Hello, readers! Welcome to this edition of my Exploring the Region series. Today we’re going to discuss my experience at the Cozy Fall Market, which was hosted by SuiteLux Coworking. It was a wonderful event and I enjoyed meeting everyone and discussing their businesses. They are all so passionate about what they do, it was really inspiring. I had the pleasure of learning about seven businesses, and I will be giving a brief summary of them below.

Resilient Roots Glow

The first person I spoke with was Jasmine, the owner of Resilient Roots Glow. Jasmine has a Master’s in public health and community health sciences, with a focus on health equity, chronic infections, illnesses, and minority populations. Her studies helped her realize her passion for botanical self care and, in May of 2026, Resilient Roots Glow was born.
On their website’s “Our Why” section, they share a reminder of their roots: “We honor the people who came before us by using the plants they valued to care for the whole person: inside and out.”
One notable detail Jasmine mentioned to me is the support her business provides to By The Hand Club For Kids, which is a “Chicago non-profit empowering low-income youth, donating specifically to their nutritious meal programs.“
I had a wonderful conversation with Jasmine and it was obvious to me how much she wanted to help people and make a difference in the world.
Resilient Roots Glow is an e-commerce store, and you can learn all about it right HERE.
Native Crafts

Native Crafts is a jewelry and craft shop. Yolanda, the owner, has been passionate about jewelry and crafts for a long time, and about five years ago she turned her passion into an idea, and her idea into a business.
Her setup at the market really stood out to me. She had all kinds of different jewelry laid out, including necklaces with cute, unique designs, and bracelets. She also had tons of crafted bracelets which come in many vibrant colors.
I didn’t speak with Yolanda for long, but from the few moments I spent with her I could tell she truly loved pursuing her passion.
Uneek Artisans

Uneek Artisans was another fun stop for me as I made my way around the room. From the moment I introduced myself I could tell how much time, passion, and love Neek (the owner) put into making these hats.
“Uneek Artisans, a woman-led brand, specializes in handmade apparel embodying comfort, culture, and craftsmanship in every unique creation tailored to individual styles.” – From their website.
As I spoke with Neek’s husband, Walter, aka “Mr. Neek”, I could tell how happy and supportive he was for his wife. He told me she has been crocheting hats as a hobby for twenty years and that it is her passion. He also said whenever he wears one of her hats out in public, he always receives compliments. Seeing this, and realizing she had an office full of crocheted hats, Neek decided it was time to take her passion and turn it into something more. “We did one vendor event and have been going ever since,” she told me. Uneek Artisans was founded in January of 2026.

I don’t think this is surprising given the rising popularity of DC Comics character, Harley Quinn, over the years, but the jester hat is one of Neek’s most popular hats (along with the cute panda hat!).
Uneek Artisans is an online store and you can find them HERE.
Quita Luxe Fashion
“Styles on a budget”

Quita Luxe Fashion sells designer-inspired bags, purses, and jewelry. It was founded a little under two years ago and continues to impress at pop up shops and markets in the area. You can see where she will be next by following Quita Luxe Fashion on Instagram (quitaluxe) and Facebook.
Simply Sprinkles

Simply Sprinkles is a cottage bakery, which means they prepare all of their baked goods in their own home. They have been in business for six months, and I had the pleasure of speaking with co-owner, Sheila.
Sheila informed me she used to be a cake decorator, before she and her daughter, Michelle, decided to start their own business. Originally, they started selling jam, but now they sell all kinds of baked goods. They bake “cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, fudge, sweet breads, jams, and more,” per their Instagram page.

Pretty, PRESSED & PREPPED

Pretty, Pressed & Prepped was formed in May of 2026. It is a cold-pressed juice business and I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, China, about why she brought her passion to life. She mentioned the health benefits, how refreshing juicing is for the body, and that she wanted to “spread the love” and help people better themselves.
“Your glow up starts in the kitchen,” China said.
Before I left her table, I was able to try a little cup of what tasted like sweet potato juice. It was delicious!

Southern Butter Desserts

Southern Butter Desserts is a home-based micro-bakery. Comeco, the owner, has been baking for over fifteen years! She usually bakes custom cakes while also catering events. However, her friends recently encouraged her to start participating as a vendor at different events and farmers markets.

As I spoke with Comeco, I could tell how much she loved her work and that there was a strong passion for baking. She then shared her inspiration with me: to keep her mother’s memory alive. Comeco’s mother taught her how to bake, and it’s evident there is a lot of love put into everything Comeco makes.

The Cozy Fall Market was a fantastic event. As I said at the beginning of this post, I had a great time meeting so many people and learning about their passions. This was also the first time The Region Life has been invited to cover an event, and I’m so thankful to SuiteLux Coworking for the invitation. You can learn more about SuiteLux at their website HERE or follow them on Instagram to learn about upcoming events HERE.
Here are a couple more pictures I took at the event!
