What I Noticed Today

Today I noticed…

I am really enjoying old western music. Whether playing Red Dead Redemption 2 recently has anything to with that, I don’t know, but as I was listening to the Spotify playlist today Top 100 Western Songs, I couldn’t help but be nostalgic for a place in time I’ve never been, and never will be.

I think it’s the thought of living more freely and simply that makes this music enjoyable for me. Thinking about a time where phones weren’t in your face and you could be one with your thoughts and with nature. Where the distractions from every day life were minimal.

I know that time is not as glamorous as my nostalgia is making it out to be, but man, I feel like people were freer than we are now.

Lately, I’ve also been patiently waiting for the weather to warm up so I can go walk some trails around the region. I can’t wait to put my phone away and turn it off as I walk through the woods on the beautiful trails this Spring. I can’t wait to hear the sounds of the woods; birds chirping, bugs buzzing, tiny animals running around and climbing trees. It’s going to be great.

These are just something’s I noticed about myself today and I wanted to share them. Maybe it’s me getting older, but I long for less noise and more woods. Less social media. Less phone. I can’t help but wonder what I’d notice if my nose wasn’t buried in this tiny computer.
