Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

My week started at 4:45 AM. We had snow showers the night before, which led into the morning as well. Thankfully, we didn’t receive much snow, but it was enough to make me get up and go clear the driveway off. The temperature was zero degrees, with a “real feel” (according to my weather app) of negative 7! I don’t think it was wrong, either, because my fingers physically hurt as I was shoveling and salting the driveway and sidewalks. They honestly felt like they were about to fall off. However, I pushed through all of the pain and finished my job (please clap)! When I came back inside I had time to warm up and get ready for the day before the rest of my family was awake. When Mr. O woke up, I brought him to our bed so he can cuddle for “a little bit” as he likes to say, and watch some of his shows. When I finally convinced him it was time to go downstairs, he helped me do the dishes before I went to work. He spent the rest of the day playing with his Momma. I can hear them having fun all day while I sit, locked in my office around the corner. It is what it is!
After work I freshened up and changed quickly because we were going over to our goddaughters house to hang out and finally give her the Christmas gift we bought for her over the holidays. It was a good time, as usual. Mr. O had a blast playing with his god-sister and all of her siblings. When we came home, I walked on the treadmill for thirty minutes, and Lea picked a new show for us to watch: Bridgerton. She’s seen it before, but I have not, so she wanted to use her pick to re-watch this show since a new season just came out. It’s alright. It’s not bad at all and pretty entertaining. If you’re new here, I want to first say WELCOME! I hope you’re enjoying my blog so far. Second, I want to explain what you just read; Lea (my wife) and I go back and forth picking either a movie or TV show/series to watch together. She picked Bridgerton this time, and I think I already have my choice made when it’s my turn (I’m going to make her watch Lord of the Rings).
On Tuesday, Mr. O and I were up and ready to go. I packed up all of his things and we drove to daycare. When we arrived, he was so excited. He was the only kid there in the morning and he had all the toys to himself. He loved it so much he hardly said bye to me. “Bye.” He said while not even looking at me. So I laughed and said bye and headed back home…until I got a text from the woman at daycare asking where Mr. O’s “Bleh” is. His “bleh” is his blanket. It’s what he’s always called it so we haven’t corrected him yet, lol. He’s only two, we don’t have to yet. After I pulled over, I looked in the back seat and he had thrown it behind his car seat, so I didn’t see it and totally forgot about it when we were walking into daycare. I turned back around and took it to him. When I walked in, he leaned back from the kitchen table, which was around the corner, smiled and said “Hi, Dada” and then continued eating his breakfast.
When I came home I did what is supposed to be my daily stretches. I have not been good at keeping up with them, but I do them occasionally so I think it’s good enough. In the evening, Lea made us a new recipe for dinner, and then we relaxed with Mr. O after a long day for all of us. I gave him a bath, read him a few books, put him to bed, and then came back downstairs to enjoy a quiet evening watching TV with my wonderful wife.
On Wednesday, I woke up about an hour before Mr. O, which means I had time to eat my breakfast peacefully, and without a toddler sitting next to me with his mouth open! Once Lea and Mr. O were up, Mr. O and I played with Superman and Batman. We ran around the house, having the toys chase each other. Our little boy is in his superhero phase at the moment. I love it, as you can assume if you’ve followed me for a while. It’s so much fun and he’s so cute wearing his Superman cape all day every day. Unfortunately, our fun had to end as I went to work. On my break I walked for about twenty minutes, felt great about myself, and then snacked some more and that feeling went away, lol. In the evening, I made tacos, and we ate as a family before we played some more. The closer we get to bedtime, the more we push Mr. O to settle down and relax. On this night, we put on the movie Cars. He loves it. He sat on the couch and relaxed before bed with one of his favorite movies.
On Thursday morning I took Mr. O to daycare again. He wasn’t as thrilled to see other kids there right away, but he was also used to them, so he continued on like he normally does and grabbed the toys he wanted to play with first. In the evening, I was able to leave work early, so I surprised Mr. O and picked him up from daycare too. Normally Lea picks him up, but since I had the time she let me do it. When I arrived, he answered the door in a pink mask and a pink cape, Lol. He was so excited to see me he was screaming, which made getting him into the car much easier than it normally is. Not much happened on this day, but seeing him be so excited to see me is worth more than anything else.
Friday was a really boring morning for me. I went to bed late and woke up early because Mr. O typically wakes up really early, but I guess on this day he decided to sleep in. So I was up with nothing to do. I was already ready for the day. I laid on the couch and scrolled on my phone for a bit. I wanted to read, but I also didn’t because I wasn’t sure when he was going to wake up and I don’t like stopping in the middle of my chapters. I know it’s weird but if I can, I enjoy reading a chapter at a time, rather than stopping in the middle. In the evening, we made this delicious lasagna from Aldi and finally finished the show Nashville. It was really good and I enjoyed it. I recommend it if you’re looking for something to watch.
Once the series was over, we decided to watch the new season of American Idol. It’s a good show to have on in the background too when we’re playing with Mr. O. So far I am enjoying the season. Only one episode is out right now, but it was entertaining. Lots of good talent coming through. We didn’t get to finish the full episode on this night, though, because it was getting late and it was time for Mr. O to take a bath and go to bed. This time he wanted bubbles, so we put bubbles in the tub. He likes putting the bubbles all over his hands and pretending they are spider webs, and that he is Spiderman, lol. It was a good way to end the night.
On Saturday, we all slept in. Finally! I got to sleep in a little bit. Most days my body doesn’t let me. My internal clock is set to five for five-thirty in the morning because that’s what it’s been used to for the last decade. Thankfully for me, Mr. O woke up at the exact same time, so I got him up and we went downstairs. I put on Cars 3 and made us breakfast. When I finally looked outside I saw we had more snow fall overnight. I let it sit for a little bit, while my boy and I finished out movie, breakfast, and then played. We ran around the house, either chasing each other, flying like airplanes, or playing hide-and-seek. Then, we did our stretches together on the floor. When Lea finally came downstairs (we did our best not to wake her and then she did some laundry), I left Mr. O with his Mamma and went outside to shovel and salt the driveway. It wasn’t as cold this time, thankfully, and we didn’t get that much snow either, so it was a quick trip outdoors.
When I finished outside, we all got ourselves ready to leave. We were heading about an hour and a half into Illinois for a birthday party. The entire car ride there consisted of “Dada, what that?” and every time they were just different office buildings, Lol. When we got to the party, Mr. O was so pumped! He played with all the kids, ate all the cake, and ran around everywhere. He chased the dogs, said hi to everyone he saw, and was just the best boy in the whole world. I love how social he is, it makes things a lot easier for us. Hours later, it was time to come home. Mr. O passed out in the car, which made up for him skipping nap time on the way there.
When we came home, Lea baked some dessert to take to church on Sunday, and then we finished the first episode of American Idol while we played with Mr. O and his racetrack. After he went to bed, I walked on the treadmill while Lea and I watched Bridgerton. On Sunday I finally woke up early enough to work out. I forced myself to change and go downstairs after I finished my Cheerios, and I’m so glad I did. It always makes me feel so much better the rest of the day. When Mr. O woke up, I took him his bottle of milk and asked him if he slept well. “Uh…Yeah…” he replied as he chugged half of his bottle. Then we went to lay in my bed and watch TV before we all got ready for church. It was godparents Sunday at our church this weekend, so Mr. O’s godfather came and spent the morning with him in Sunday School. It was fun and they had a blast together (as usual). Currently, I am sitting in our recliner writing this. Mr. O still hasn’t napped today and probably won’t. We tried to put him down when we came home, but then he tried to climb out of his crib, so I had to run up there to grab him, lol. So now he is down here with us, eating his chicken nuggets and facetiming his cousins. It’s been another good week in the region, and I hope you all had a great one as well.

Lea and I picked the same this this week . Loved it! Internal clocks are annoying on weekends. I myself have one set for 5 and I rarely sleep a minute later. Have a great week
