Weekly Review 66

Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

I woke up horribly on Monday. That’s not a good way to start a post, I know, but it’s true. I had a horrible night of “sleep”. My congestion was at its worst, and Mr. O was in our bed and up all night with Lea. Okay…maybe Lea had it worse! All I’m saying is, NyQuil did not work this time, which is unfortunate because I was really looking forward to being knocked out for 7 hours. When we all finally gave up and got ready for the day, Lea took Mr. O to his first tumbling glass. She said he had a blast and loved running around and playing with all the different things they had. He even learned how to somersault! Lol. When they came back he was so tired he went down for his nap with hardly any fight. After work I played upstairs with Mr. O while Lea made us dinner. Then, we came back downstairs to eat and afterwards Mr. O wanted to play catch with his velcro pads and ball. Unfortunately, my athletic abilities seemed to have left me on Monday, because I overthrew the ball and it hit Mr. O in the lip and his tooth busted his lip open and then there was crying and bleeding. I felt so horrible! Lea cleaned him up and stopped the bleeding, and then Mr. O wanted to play catch again, Lol. I told him nope, I’m too scared now!

On Tuesday I woke up early to help Lea get Mr. O ready for daycare. She was taking him this time since I wanted to rest a bit more before work (thank you, Lea). Once I finally got up and showered, I still had time to kill before work, so I worked on my cousins fantasy football newsletter. It was round one of our post season/playoffs so it was fun to change it up a bit. In the evening, Lea picked up Mr. O from daycare and then they swung by to get me and we continued our Christmas tradition of going to buy a new ornament and then going to dinner. Mr. O picked out Mater from the movie Cars, Lea got this pretty butterfly, and I, of course, bought the new Superman ornament. Then, we met my cousin who is back in town for the holidays at Cheers for dinner. On the way home Mr. O randomly told us to “Shud up!” and then giggled like it was hilarious. I don’t know where he learned that (honestly) but it was kind of funny. We told him he shouldn’t say that and he eventually stopped after saying it again three more times, Lol. When I was rocking him to sleep before bed, I had a coughing fit caused by my congestion. Mr. O turned to me and said “Dada, I don’t like that. All done?”. He’s so cute, Lol. I ended the night playing Madden and I finally got my Bears back in the top of the league.

When I woke up Wednesday I was feeling so much better. Still congested, but I could tell I was going uphill now. When Mr. O woke up we went downstairs and watched a couple videos of Disneyland parades. He loved seeing all his favorite characters come by. In the evening, Mr. O and I watched The Santa Clause and three of my cousins came over to see him and hang out for a bit. On Thursday my aunt and cousin came over for a few hours in the morning to watch Mr. O while Lea and I worked. On my lunch break, I made a few changes to this blog. If you look at the menu, you’ll notice I got rid of my Interviews section completely. I felt it was time. I have no plans to resume doing interviews with people in the region, and I feel my blog has evolved into something else entirely. I’m not reliant on those interviews for content anymore and I felt like the section even existing was holding me back. So now, this is 100% a personal blog, digital journal, whatever you want to call it. It’s all about my life and the parts of the region I decide to explore and discover. I hope you continue to enjoy it! In the evening I played Madden again. Sadly, I didn’t make it to the Superbowl this season. We were one touchdown away from winning the game to advance, but failed. When I started the next season, all my players had left, so my reign as head coach of the Chicago Bears is over. I then created a whole new character/coach and became the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. It’s more fun to pick teams who are struggling and turning them into champions. Let’s hope I can win at least one with this team!

On Friday I woke up early with Mr. O and he helped me pack for our weekend trip. We were heading down south to my in-laws to celebrate Christmas with Lea’s side of the family. While I packed, he ate his food in my bed and then ran around with the other suitcase and pretended it was a train, Lol. He stopped occasionally to watch Moana. After work we immediately packed the car and left. It was pitch black out. It was Lea, Mr. O, me and my nieces Cat. If I didn’t mention it before, we were cat sitting for a few weeks, and we were taking the little kitty back to her owners. The car ride was so scary, lol. It was so dark and all farmland. It did not help that the cat meowed and screamed the whole time, which then had Mr. O doing the same thing back to her, Lol. It was a very overstimulating drive. 3 hours later, when we finally arrived, we dropped the cat off at my sister-in-laws, and drove through Indiana States campus to get to my in-laws. It was a very nostalgic drive through campus. This is where Lea and I went to school and met. It’s where we made our lifelong friends and tons of memories. As much as we go to see my in-laws, I rarely go by or through campus. It was nice to be back for a few minutes.

On Saturday morning the rest of the family came over to my in-laws and we celebrated Christmas. We opened gifts, we ate a bunch of food, we had fun all hanging out. The kids especially loved being together and playing all day. In the evening, Lea went to the movies with her mom and sister-in-law, while me, Mr. O and my father-in-law stayed home to watch the Bears vs. Packers game. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE GAME!! THE BEARS WON IN OVERTIME ON A MAGNIFICENT THROW FROM CALEB WILLIAMS AND AND EVEN BETTER CATCH FROM DJ MOORE!!! It was awesome. I was up until midnight because the game took so long, Lol. Then I had trouble sleeping because I was so excited.

Finally, on Sunday, we left Mr. O with my mother-in-law while Lea and I went to support one of our nieces at her first wrestling match. It was exciting! We never wrestled or were into wrestling before so we were learning a lot. She had three matches and she did really well for her first time. It was a fun experience. Afterwards, we picked up Wendys, ate at my in-laws, packed the car and drove home. It was a long weekend and a very long Sunday. I’m so glad to finally be home and to be writing this! I love updating every week of my life, even if I don’t capture every minute of it, it’s still a nice log to have

I hope you all had a great week and I hope this new week brings you tons of joy and happiness! Merry Christmas!

Peter
