Weekly Review 32

Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

On Monday morning, Mr. O slept in. This seems to be a trend with him lately, lol. I was barely able to spend any time with him before I went to work. It stinks, but it happens sometimes. He’s a growing boy! The work day was okay. It was really slow again, so I continued my training videos until the clock struck five and it was time to sign off for the night. After work, I played upstairs with Mr. O. He rushed my mom out of our house because he wanted to go upstairs and play with his trains so bad, lol. I partly blame myself since I told him, “We can go upstairs and play after Yiayia leaves”.  He kept following her around, saying “BYE! BYE!” and leading her towards the door like he was herding sheep!

When I finally convinced him to come back downstairs, I made dinner. I put on this apron that Lea bought for me for Christmas, and, of course, Mr. O had to put on his little apron too. He’s adorable. Before dinner was ready, Lea came home, and we all hung out together. Later that night, after Mr. O went to bed, we binged The Sopranos for a bit. It was a nice evening.

On Monday night, I had planned to wake up early so I could work out before Mr. O wakes up. On Tuesday morning, I decided to sleep in, lol. This has become a bad habit for me. I need to make it a priority! Instead, I woke up at my normal time, had a peaceful breakfast, and read a book. After that, I cleaned out the fridge in our garage so we could move it into our driveway for a few days. We were having a company improve the floor in our garage on Wednesday, and all of our things needed to be moved out. Thankfully, we had our fence installed first, so we could put all of our things from the garage in the backyard.

After work, Mr. O and I played outside for a little bit until dinner was ready. Once he went to sleep for the night, Lea and I cleaned out our garage. Then, since I still had some energy left in me, I went downstairs to work out. On Wednesday, Mr. O slept in AGAIN! He’s been growing so fast lately, I just want it to slow down. He’s becoming such a big toddler, and he’s heavy, lol. Before work, I had some time, so I read the Cedar Lake history book I spoke about a few times on here. It’s so interesting to me, and I’m so happy I picked it up a couple of years ago.

Work was slow (again), so I continued with my training videos. They’re called “continuing education” videos, and my employer gave us a list of shows and documentaries we could watch on Netflix, Max, and Amazon Prime (along with internal resources and videos as well) that count towards our continuing education goals. So, I found a few documentaries on Netflix, and that is how I spent my work day. It took forever. It sounds fun, but it’s not lol. After work, I met Mr. O, my mom, my grandma, and two of my aunts at a restaurant called Cheers. My mom’s cousins own it, and it’s a cool place. I’ve been going there my whole life. Anyway, we went to dinner for my aunt’s birthday, and it was a lot of fun. Mr. O enjoyed running around and saying hi to everyone. When we came home, he went to bed, and I joined a friend on Baldur’s Gate 3, and we continued our quest!

On Thursday, I woke up early enough to do some chores, so I did the dishes. Then, per usual, Mr. O woke up and we played for an hour or two before I started working. After work, I went to the store and then made dinner. After everyone went to bed, I went for an evening run. It was way colder than I thought it was going to be! Finally, when I somehow made it back home, I warmed up and went downstairs to work out. Once I found the strength to finish all of that, I showered and collapsed into my bed, lol. I spent the rest of the night watching Halloween TikTok’s about Salem, Massachusetts. I want to go there around Halloween-time/fall so bad! I just love how it looks. The colors, the history, the spookiness. I love it all, and I hope I get a chance to go soon. I probably won’t be able to this year since we’ve been doing so much work on our house, but maybe next year!

On Friday morning, I had time to read before work, so I pulled out the Lois Lane miniseries that I read a couple of years ago. I’ve been wanting to re-read it for a while now, and I’m glad I did. It’s so good! I also wanted to read it again before I gave it to Lea for our book swap. I think she will like it, but I’m not sure. She still hasn’t finished Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow yet, and I’ve already finished the first book she suggested, and now I’m almost done with the second in that series. So, this is me PUBLICLY putting the pressure on her to finish Supergirl! Come on, Lea! Hold up your end of the deal, lady. Anyway, the Lois Lane miniseries is good and entertaining. It takes place in the middle of a much bigger Superman story, but I don’t think it affects her story at all. It’s still easy to understand.

When Mr. O woke up, we watched Ms. Rachel for the first time in a long time. He loved it and was singing and dancing along. Then, we put on Thomas the Tank Engine, and before I knew it, I had to start work. Again, it was a slow day. On my lunch break, I went to the auto parts store to pick up a new air filter for my lawn mower. It was nice to get out of the house for a little bit. After work, we played, put Mr. O to sleep, and then went to a quick dinner and movie. It was me, Lea, and my cousin. My aunt came to stay at the house while Mr. O slept. We went to see the new movie Sinners. It was entertaining and I enjoyed myself. It was nice to watch something in theaters that isn’t a superhero film, lol. I’ll be getting enough of that within the next few years (starting July 11th with SUPERMAN!).

On Saturday, Mr. O slept in again. Each day, he’s been sleeping longer and longer. Ugh, it’s going to be miserable trying to get him up and ready for school when he’s older, isn’t it? Lol. While he slept, I cleaned the house up a bit. Since it was Lea’s birthday weekend, we invited some family over to celebrate with us. So, the house needed to be cleaned since we have a little human tornado running around constantly. It started with the dishes and picking up all the toys. Then, I moved a few things to the garage. When Lea woke up, I waited for her to finish baking the cake, and then I swept and vacuumed. After that, we set up the tables and chairs. Finally, we were able to relax for an hour or so, until I had to go pick up the food for the party. When I came home, our family was already here. So I turned on the Sox game in the background, muted it, and played some “fancy restaurant music”. That’s what I typed into Spotify, and that is the name of the playlist that came up first lol.

After dinner and dessert (which were delicious), everyone started heading home, so we took Mr. O upstairs to give him a bath. Once he was asleep, we tried to watch a couple of episodes of The Sopranos, but my eyes were becoming so heavy, I had to call it a night. I passed out upstairs a few minutes later. Sunday was Lea’s 31st birthday! I told her it was her day and she could do whatever she wanted. She said she wanted to relax, so she went shopping for a little bit, then came home and hung out with Mr. O while I took care of things outside. I brought in and organized all of our things we had to take out of the garage earlier in the week. Then, I cleaned the grill (as best I could), swapped out the air filters in my mower, and poured new oil in (not in the air filter, obviously lol). Once I was finished, I was starving. I came inside and ate a big plate of leftovers from the party, and then I played outside with Mr. O.

He became tired of the backyard, so I walked with him around the block. It was a lot of fun! A couple of hours later, I decided to cut the grass. It was my first mow of the season, and it took forever! The grass was so high, and I was trying to cut it so low for this first cut, so it kept clogging up, and I had to keep stopping. My back has been aching ever since from bending down to unclog it. When I was finished, I finally showered, we ordered dinner, and we relaxed the rest of the night. It was a great week, and Lea said she had a great birthday.

I hope you all had a great week!
