Weekly Review 25

Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

On Monday morning Mr. O and I cuddled on the couch and watched more Steam Trains Galore videos on YouTube. I’m not lying when I say I don’t think I will get sick of these videos lol. I don’t know why but they’re relaxing to watch and they’re kind of cool. Steam trains are cool!. Unfortunately, our little guy still had congestion and a cough, so I don’t think he enjoyed the cuddle session as much as I did. After work we played a bit so Mr. O could get his energy out before bed. Then Lea and I watched Hart of Dixie and called it a night. Not a terrible start to the week (although our son feeling well would have made it better!).

On Tuesday I woke up to one of the best sounds (in my opinion). It was around 5am when the mighty rumble of thunder woke me. I remember my eyes were half open and I softly said “hell yeah”. I enjoy a good thunderstorm, especially around spring time (I know it isn’t spring yet but it’s close!). Before Mr. O woke up I did some light reading. This time I cracked open The Orthodox Church: 455 Questions and Answers by Stanley S. Harakas. It’s pretty interesting and there’s a ton of good information in there. Once our little man woke up we did our normal routine then played in his playroom upstairs for a bit. He likes diving head first into his ball pit and then having me sit in his little tent with him while he plays music on his DJ stand lol. It’s VIP only (humble brag. Sorry Lea). Later that night Lea made biscuits and gravy (the best!) and we hung out until Mr. O went to bed. Then Lea went upstairs to read and I watched President Trump’s address to Congress. I enjoyed it and I thought it was pretty good. It was tough at times but also had its heartwarming moments.

On Wednesday morning I made Mr. O breakfast. I made him toast and jam along with sausage links. I put my blood, sweat and tears into this meal and over the stove all for him to say “No” when he saw it. That’s right. He didn’t eat it. Well, he ate some of it on his own terms. I set it down on one of our side tables and he grazed it for a bit, which is better than nothing I guess. Later that night we rough housed a bit to get his energy out (plus it’s fun) and ate dinner and watched more choo-choo videos. What a great day!

On Thursday Lea took Mr. O to my mom’s in the morning so I had the house to myself almost all morning before work. I took this time to finally decorate my office a little bit and hung some pictures. I’m just now realizing I didn’t take any pictures to show you guys lol. It’s okay, I can describe it now and then show you another time. I hung up a Smallville poster (my second one), five Superman related comics, and two icons. I’m not great at this stuff so I had to re-do it a bunch but I eventually hung them how I intended them to be. I think it looks great and I will definitely show you all soon!

Later in the day I put on an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience and listened to him interview Ian Carroll. It was really interesting to hear them talk about some of these “conspiracy” topics. Conspiracy isn’t the right word. I’m blanking on the word I’m looking for right now, but go ahead and give the episode a listen if you want. It was pretty cool. Lot’s of information on different topics. As always, and Ian Carroll says it as well in the episode, do your own fact checking and research. Later that night we had dinner, played, and I continued my current obsession with Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3).

On Friday Mr. O woke up pretty early. I am not a fan of this. He’s been waking up earlier and earlier recently and it’s driving us crazy lol. We played in his playroom again and had a good morning. In the evening we played some more and then I played BG3 again. I finally finished Act 2 and am now on to the much more challenging Act 3. We will see how it goes. So far, I’ve had to re-do the first few minutes a ton lol.

Saturday was a big day for Lea and I. We (yes, just us two!) were headed down to Indianapolis for Supercross. We haven’t had a day alone in forever. Mr. O spent the whole day and night with my mom so we were able to go. Thanks mom! Before we left town, we stopped for gas and at Dunkin Donuts to grab a bite to eat.

Look at that. What a beauty. It was so delicious! Bacon, egg & cheese on a bagel. So good. Oh, Lea is behind me too.

Two – and – a – half – hours later we arrived at a beautiful Marriott hotel. I mean, we were not expecting it to be so nice. To top it off, they put us on the top floor with a pretty cool view.

After hanging out and relaxing for a bit in the hotel (which we never get to do. Sitting there with my eyes closed in silence for a little bit was amazing) we met up with My sister-in-law and her fiancé and walked over to Lucas Oil Stadium to watch the races. Once we got there we met up with Lea’s parents and our nephew who came with them. It was a really fun time. Aside from having to inhale gasoline for 5 hours (?), the races were cool and it was nice hanging out and not having to worry about Mr. O running away every five seconds lol. We did miss him like crazy though!

When the event was finally over we went outside and finally inhaled some fresh air. I seriously don’t know why they wouldn’t open the windows in the stadium, but whatever. At this time it was around 10:30 pm and these parents were TIRED. Our bodies are used to shutting down around 7 or 8pm now lol. We got back to the hotel and put on a couple episodes of The Sopranos and passed out. Unfortunately, neither of us slept very well. I’m not sure why. Maybe because the bed wasn’t as comfy as our is, or maybe because we were overtired? Who knows. I blame the episodes of The Sopranos we watched before bed for my poor sleep. They were intense lol.

On Sunday we were so tired. We showered and packed up our room and went down into the lobby. Being over tired after a terrible nights rest, your worst fear (well, mine at least) is being surrounded by a ton of loud and obnoxious people. So, what do we find when we get downstairs? A lobby FULL OF KIDS. College kids, high school kids, and little kids. There were tons of events going on at our hotel and the surrounding areas this weekend apparently, and there were so many people running around and being loud. I was over it lol. Lea and I grabbed a couple egg sandwiches from the hotel restaurant, ate, and then went to our car to head home.

Another 2.5 hours later and we were home. Mr. O was so happy to see us. He ran up and gave us both hugs. It was so cute! Once we settled back in I helped Mr. O put this big train track set together, only for me to not do it right. There were at least three different spots where the tracks weren’t connected and had no ends lol. It turns out, it didn’t matter anyways. Mr. O ended up tearing it apart an hour later. We ended up chilling, making dinner and watching Cars 3 before putting the little guy down for bed. He was so adorable you guys. He was clinging on to me and snuggling so much! It was heartbreaking to put him down and hear him cry. But he finally soothed himself and went to sleep.

So that was my week! It was pretty good. I hope yours was great too.
