Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.
On Monday I took my last vacation day of the year. It was a nice day and I enjoyed spending time with Mr. O. We watched a lot of YouTube that day, but it was all spread out throughout the day and they were twenty-minute videos/movies. The explanation was for the Mrs. whenever she reads this.
It was a bit nostalgic and I really think he enjoyed watching these old Christmas movies that I used to watch when I was a kid. In the first half of the day we watched Frosty the Snowman and the old cartoon Grinch movie. Mr. O really enjoyed Frosty the Snowman. He laughed and danced a ton. With the Grinch he was more confused lol but he still watched it. When we finished with those he went and took a nap while I did a quick workout in the basement. Later that night we turned to YouTube again, but not to watch! Just to listen. I turned on an old concert Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin had done together so we could have some music in the background while Mr. O played with his toys. Plus I’d never watched any of their live performances. It was really cool!
On Tuesday I began working-from-home (hopefully its permanent this time). It was a busy day once again, but it was so nice to get off work, walk out of my office and immediately be greeted by my little man. That big smile and the cutest giggle in the world took away all the stress and worries I carried throughout the day. While we ate dinner we turned on Jim Carrey’s The Grinch movie. Mr. O definitely did not like that one. He was scared for Cindy Lou Who in that scene where The Grinch was screaming at her in the back of the mail room lol. Mr. O actually started yelling at the Tv trying to help her. It was so sweet and innocent. After we put the little guy down for the night I re-entered the huge world of Skyrim. It hadn’t played that game in, I don’t know, maybe a year? It was fun! I ran around the fictional land known as Skyrim looking for things to do, but instead I ended up at all the places I hadn’t been in a while. First I went to my home in Whiterun, then I entered the city of Whiterun. I quickly realized there were no guards at the entrance, but then I remembered it was because of that one time long ago, when I..ummm…let’s say “removed them from existence”. They never respawned like they usually do lol.
After a quick visit to the palace I left the city and started heading to Windhelm, where my characters family lives (in a mansion I was awarded after solving the mystery of the serial killer who used to live there. So yes my character and his family live in a home that belonged to a serial killer). It’s a nice little routine I have in this game. I leave for very long periods of time to go on adventures and then I return and ask my characters wife how her shop is going, which then leads to her giving me my share of the profits. Then I grab whatever gear I need and I leave again. It sounds harsh but those characters are so ungrateful! Whenever Bill (my character) comes home it’s “Oh hi did you bring me anything?” and never “Oh welcome home thanks for saving the entire world over and over again!”. It’s a thankless job.
For about twenty more minutes I ran around in the game going to all of my properties, collecting my money, then going into the mountains and storing it in another home I won (this time a vampire cave mansion). I think in total I have saved over two-hundred-thousand gold lol all hiding in the mountain mansion. I’ve played this game for a while, okay?! That’s enough Skyrim talk for today lol.
On Wednesday morning (2-3am) Mr. O decided to wake up. He sat in his bed but he didn’t cry. He sang. Yes, he sat there for an hour just singing in his babble language. He was so loud that we didn’t even need the monitor on to hear him clearly. Eventually he went back to sleep but we were all very tired on Wednesday. In the evening, after Mr. O finally went to sleep, I had one of the most relaxing nights! I had no light except the Christmas tree shining through the room as I sat back in my recliner and turned on A Christmas Carol.

It was the one from 1938 and I have to say it was really good. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen that one. My favorite version of this movie is from 1984, but you have to rent or buy it on Prime and I didn’t want to. The older movie was available for free on Max. It was quiet evening with a good movie. Couldn’t have asked for a better night!
On Thursday night Lea and I watched some new episodes of Surviving Barstool. It’s Barstool Sports’ version of the show Survivor. It’s a really good production and it’s very funny (especially if you follow Barstool and know some of the players). Once that ended I then watched episode three of DC Studios Creature Commandos. It was pretty cool. Speaking of DC, the Superman trailer is supposed to come out this week! So keep an eye out for that because I’ll be writing about it.
On Friday we watched the last episode for the week of Surviving Barstool. Things are heating up! After that, Lea and I watched the new documentary on Christopher Reeve (on Max) called Super/Man. It was really good and also really sad. I recommend it. Saturday was another slow day for us (which we enjoy). We didn’t do too much, just hung around the house. Lea went to the gym, Mr. O went to take a nap, so I went downstairs and did another quick workout. I also ordered another machine to continue building my home gym, so that should be arriving here in a few days! It’s going to be so nice to be able to get a good workout in without leaving home. I can’t wait!
On Sunday we went to a two-year-old’s birthday party. It was pretty fun. Always nice to catch up with friends. Mr. O had a blast with the other kids playing in the little cars they had at the house lol. He enjoyed pretending like he was driving. He played in the cars the entire time we were there. Stopping briefly to eat and chase their dog around lol. Then we came home, made dinner, and put the little man down for the night. It was a good day and a great week.
I hope you all had a great week too!
Peter
