Hello, readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.
It was a fun week! I had the whole week off thanks to some vacation time so I was able to spend a lot of time with Mr. O. On Monday it was Veteran’s Day here in the U.S. so I wanted to start by saying thank you to all who have served! I appreciate everything you’ve given for our country.
On Monday morning my cousin (who is two weeks younger than me) graduated with her Music Business Management MA Degree from the University of Westminster in London. Thankfully there was a live recording so all of our family here in the U.S. could watch her walk and graduate! It was really exciting and we’re all so proud of her! Congratulations Kiki!
Later in the day Mr. O and I went grocery shopping. It’s always fun taking him places. Especially the store because he LOVES to “people watch”. He even goes as far as trying to talk to them in his little babble language lol. There was this one guy walking by who committed the ultimate sin of not looking at Mr. O, so what does he do? He yells “EY! EY!” (his version of HEY!) until the man looks at him and smiles lol. He’s insane sometimes!
On Tuesday I had to finish this work thing while Mr. O was napping. I don’t like doing anything work related during my time off, but it was due and I had time to do it so I figured why not. It’s not like it was actual work. It was just some end-of-year type thing for my manager and I to go over during our year-end review. Anyway, it took me maybe twenty minutes. So not too bad. Once I finished that, and Mr. O woke up and ate lunch, our little family went to do some shopping! First, we went to Shoe Carnival because I needed a new pair of boots. After a few years of wearing down my old boots they finally gave out on me. At Shoe Carnival I picked out a pair of brown boots, but Lea also liked the black versions of the boots I picked out, so I ended up getting both. I will explain why later, but they were ON SALE so it’s okay lol. After shoe shopping we continued my family tradition of going to buy ornaments for Christmas. If you’re a new follower let me explain. When my brother and I were younger, him, our dad, and myself would go to the Hallmark store every single year to pick out different types of ornaments for our tree. My dad would always buy a Santa Clause, while my brother and I would always buy superhero or other movie-type ornaments. Of course, by now I probably have 10 or more Superman ornaments lol but Lea said we can’t hang them on our tree yet until Mr. O is older and there’s no chance of him breaking them.
Anyway, my dad and brother have both passed away so I wanted to carry on the tradition with my son and my wife. So now every year we go and I buy ornaments for me, Lea, Mr. O and I pick one out for my brother as well. This year I bought another Superman ornament lol. I know it’s a complete surprise! This time it’s more of a Clark Kent one though. He’s ripping his suit off to show the Superman S. It’s really cool. For the second year in a row, Mr. O has picked out a car for his ornament. This kid is obsessed with cars and I think it’s adorable. Lea picked out a Harry Potter ornament and for my brother I picked out a Joker (Batman villain) ornament. I feel like he would have liked it.

Once we finished our shopping we met my mom at this restaurant called Cheers. We haven’t been there in forever so it was nice to eat there again.
On Wednesday Mr. O and I started the day by coloring. He’s been enjoying that recently, except he really likes to put the marker caps on his fingers. He doesn’t’ really color (I do), he just runs around with the caps on his hands like his fingers are extra long lol. Still, it’s fun. A few hours later the United States Congress held another UAP/UFO hearing. It was pretty cool but of course there was nothing groundbreaking revealed. Once that wrapped up Mr. O and I drove up to my moms so I could help her put her patio furniture away for the winter. Before I started that, Mr. O wanted to play outside in her yard with her dog, Sparty. He loves Sparty lol. Unfortunately, Mr. O stepped in dog poop so we had to quit outside playtime earlier than we wanted. He was not happy! But neither was I when I had to clean the bottom of his shoe off lol.
On Thursday I finally started working out in our basement again. It felt great and I continued to do it all the way through Friday. I’m so happy with myself for that. After I finished my work out on Thursday I got back into playing Baldur’s Gate 3. I haven’t played any PlayStation games in quite some time. It was really fun and I played all weekend lol. On Thursday night I tried to get Lea into some DC shows on Max. I wanted her to watch Peacemaker with me since the DCU debuts with Creature Commandos in a month and the show kind of ties into it. If you know anything about Peacemaker you could probably guess Lea was not a fan and won’t be continuing the show lol.
On Friday Lea was off of work as well, so we spent the morning playing with Mr. O. We colored and danced to early 2000’s music Lea and I used to listen to lol. Later that evening we introduced him to Harry Potter. He watched the first half of the first movie and he really enjoyed it. There were a couple parts he was a little scared of but overall he liked it. He kept clapping and giggling and saying “WOAH”. He also loves all the owls for some reason.
On Saturday we had out goddaughters sixth birthday party. It was so much fun! It’s been a while since we’ve seen her, so it was really nice to be there. Mr. O had a blast with all the kids of course. He was so tired when we got home. He napped instantly!
And finally, Sunday. On Sunday we had our family pictures. We’ve been doing these the last two years so we can send out Christmas cards. This is also why Lea wanted me to buy the black boots as well because they looked better with the outfit she bought me. Anyway, it was a fun twenty minute session. Mr. O almost made it through the whole thing. He did not want to sit still lol. I think the photographer caught some good ones though. When I came home I cut the grass and listened to the Bears game. They played the Green Bay Packers, their arch rivals. The Bears lost by ONE POINT. I’m not even disappointed. It’s expected at this point lol. Caleb Williams, however, played great. He had a few really great drives in the final quarter to bring the team so close to winning. He’s a keeper! Fire the coach!
On Sunday night Lea made biscuits and gravy for dinner. We like to get wild sometimes and make breakfast for dinner! It was good. We hung out as a family until it was time for the little guy to go to sleep. And that’s all there is. That was my week. I hope you enjoyed!
Peter
