Weekly Review 8

Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you. We will start on Monday, when tensions were high here in the U.S. due to it being the eve of election day. Nothing really notable happened while I was in Chicago, but you could feel the energy being a little different.

It wasn’t negative or positive. I think it was mostly anxious energy. It was a strange day and everyone was nervous (for different reasons obviously, depending who you voted for). When Tuesday came along I couldn’t wait to get off of work. It was election day! I also had a half day due to a doctor appointment, so I was able to leave work at noon. After my appointment our little family went to check out a new gym we were all joining. It’s closer to home and has activities for Mr. O to do too. It’s a nice place and hopefully we will start using it soon.

A few hours later it was time for the election. I was more positive than anything. I’ve expressed my support for President a few times on here so I won’t get into that. However, I feel like I have to talk about the outcome a little bit since I brought up the election. Donald Trump won, and he won big. Like, very, very, big. He won electorally and through the popular vote. It was a huge victory for him and, in my opinion, for America. I truly believe he will help to make our country great again.

I was up until midnight on Tuesday and I had to wake up at 4:30am Wednesday so I was running on very little sleep. Sadly, I wasn’t able to catch the end results of the election and the victory speech but that’s okay. When I woke up Wednesday I was feeling more energized than usual. Not in a “my candidate of choice won!!” kind of way, but more in a “something in the air has changed” kind of way. I don’t know how to explain it but I was very energized for only have four-and-a-half hours of sleep.

The rest of Wednesday was a bit boring and by the afternoon I was falling asleep lol. On Thursday I was back downtown and made it through the work day. That evening I went to get my haircut (finally). It’s been so long since I had a haircut. My hair gets so thick when I don’t cut it and whenever it gets messed up it does not go back to its original form. You can imagine how my hair does in the windy city (not good!). On Friday Lea’s parents came up to visit. They stayed with Mr. O that night since Lea and I had plans.

Lea recently joined this Mom’s group with a few friends of hers and they get together every other week. On Friday they had their Friendsgiving event and the moms were allowed to bring the daddies. It was nice to meet Lea’s friends and their husbands. The food was good and there were some little games we all played. Lea and I won first place in the “beer pong” game. I don’t know what it’s actually called but it’s not really beer pong lol it resembles it though so that’s why I call it that. Overall, I think we placed third for the night. So we didn’t get a prize! Eh, it’s okay I guess. No prize could beat spending the evening with my wife! I know her eyes just rolled.

On Saturday Lea, Mr. O, Mr. O’s grandma, and I put up our Christmas decorations! We got the tree out and some little things we’ve bought over the years and set it all up. Take a look!

That night we went out to dinner at this place called Station 21. It was really good and nice to be out of the house. On Sunday Mr. O and I went to church with my mom. He loved the stained glass windows and trying to sing with the choir lol. After church we grabbed a donut from the church hall, he ran around to get his energy out, then we headed home. He fell asleep in the car and then he took his real nap when we got home. I turned on the Bears game and they are horrendous. I’m honestly so depressed about being a Chicago sports fan. None of my teams are good, and none of the people running the organizations know what they’re doing. It sucks.

Anyways, this was my week! It had it’s ups and downs but overall it was great!

Peter
