Hello readers. Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you!
I had the whole week off and it was really nice and relaxing. We didn’t do too much, but it was nice to be home, get things done around the house, and play with Mr. O.
On Monday the little guy and I started the day by watching Pardon My Take. He doesn’t understand it, obviously, but he still enjoys it. He laughs whenever I laugh lol. They talk sports mostly, and then go on tangents about other topics and current events sometimes. While we had that show on in the background we played with Mr. O’s toys. It started by him pulling Woody, Buzz, and Jessie out from his toy box. I’m not sure what he intended to do with them, but he was just dragging them around wherever he went and I eventually started playing with him.
It was fun! Then he brought out his trucks (which he’s obsessed with) and we “drove” those around the room making truck noises (Vroom! Vroom!). He loves doing that. Then when he became bored of those toys, we grabbed his Little Tikes basketballs and started shooting around on his little hoop that sits in front of our stairs. Whenever he throws it in the hoop he turns around and happy screams and claps lol. He does that whenever I score too.
I’ve been on a mission lately to kick the ball into the hoop. I’ve done it a couple times, but I want to be so good at it that I can just do it whenever I want lol. My latest attempt was a failure. I’m right handed and my dominant foot is my right foot so I usually kick with that one. However, I felt like I needed to change things up so I tried kicking it into the hoop with my left foot this time. I’m not terrible with my left foot. I can use it really well actually, but I hate to say that I failed. The hoop is in front of our stairs, which means it is on the carpet. I was standing in our kitchen/dining area which has wood flooring (and I should mention I was wearing brand new socks!). So I was pretty far away but that’s where I’ve been kicking it from for months. Anyways, I used my left foot and right after I kicked it my legs came up from under me and I fell very hard onto the floor, which sent Lea and Mr. O into fits of laughter. Unfortunately, we have cameras set up so we can have all eyes on Mr. O if we are in the other rooms for a few minutes, so my apparently hilarious fall is on tape. No, I will not be posting it on here! Sorry!
On Tuesday I woke up early and did a quick basement workout. It felt really good and I’m glad I did it. I regret to inform you that I did not keep that up the rest of the week. I wish I had! Oh well. Later that morning Lea and I left for Chicago. We were headed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital/Northwestern Medicine for a doctor appointment. It was a nice trip and it surprisingly didn’t take long. I won’t get into it but just know everything went A-Okay! On our way home we picked up the little man from my moms. He was so excited to see us. I think he has FOMO lol or “fear of missing out”. He just wants to be with us always. We’re trying to enjoy it while it lasts.
Tuesday night I made dinner. I made a chicken and rice recipe my mom gave to me and I have to say I think I am nailing it. Although, I know I put too much cinnamon in it sometimes but I can’t help myself. It makes it taste so good. I was a little out of it that night. I think I was really tired because while I was cooking I almost forgot to put the onion I chopped earlier in the day into the pot lol. Thankfully I remembered quickly after I started mixing everything.
On Wednesday I woke up very late. Thankfully Mr. O did too. I was so tired. Exhausted! We woke up around the same time, so I didn’t get to clean or do any other chores like I had planned. It’s tough doing the dishes or sweeping with a toddler around. When I sweep he follows me everywhere trying to get the broom lol and when I do the dishes he pulls the silverware out after I put them in the dishwasher. One time he even climbed in the dishwasher as I was loading it lol.
Later that day I went to early vote for the presidential election. Don’t forget to vote, readers! I recommend going early so you’re not waiting forever on election day. Also, you don’t know what could go wrong on election day either, so I believe it’s best to just go early. That way you’re not in a rush and you know your vote was recorded correctly. In the evening I made dinner again. I turned on The Incredibles for Mr. O for the first time and he was hooked right from the start. I’ve never seen him be so in to a movie. He was laughing, smiling, and even screaming “Go! Go!” at the TV lol.
Once Friday rolled around I was sad. My week-long vacation was coming to an end. I knew I had to go back to work sooner-or-later but it always goes by so fast! Lea had stuff to do for most of the day so I turned out to be a boys day. Mr. O and I went to Target to walk around and buy a few things. It was nice to get out of the house. This kid is such a social butterfly. He has to talk to everyone and wave to everyone. That’s why he loves going to Target lol. After an hour or so we checked out and came home. It was time for his second nap. So he went down, I did some chores, blah blah. All boring stuff for the rest of the night.
On Saturday we had a Halloween party at our church for all the kids. Mr. O dressed up as Buzz Lightyear and he had so much fun! He was making new friends as he was running around screaming and playing. He loved the decorations and wouldn’t stop picking up the little pumpkins he kept calling “ball”. He had a blast.
Sunday was our laziest day by far. Nothing but Tv, playing with the little guy and doing household chores. We were all pretty exhausted from the night before. The party was only from 4-7 and we didn’t stay the full three hours, but man it’s exhausting chasing this kid around and making sure he doesn’t get hurt lol.
Lastly, I wanted to talk about the White Sox and the recent news that made headlines in the sports world. I don’t have too much to say about it so I rather talk about it on this post instead of making a whole separate post for it. Per Soxon35th.com, Report: Jerry Reinsdorf in “Active Discussions” to sell the White Sox. This makes me happy, but skeptical. Here is why: “Less than a year ago, Reinsdorf made headlines when he met with Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell. Greg Hinz of Crain’s Chicago…detailing Reinsdorf’s series of moves that included exploring options for the White Sox beyond Guaranteed Rate field – both inside and outside of Chicago. Based on that report, a move to Nashville was referenced and appeared to be on the table, though nothing was considered imminent (soxon35th).” I will tell you right now…if this moron has the team moved to Nashville, or anywhere out of Chicago for that matter, I will spend every single MLB season actively rooting against them and for their downfall.
I love the White Sox…when they’re in Chicago! Like they have been since 1901. I don’t know what team I will root for if they leave. I most likely will just stop watching baseball all together if I’m being honest. Also, please don’t bring it up. I will not be a Cubs fan. The whole situation with the Sox is very annoying. I hope he sells it to someone who keeps it in Chicago and that they get their stuff together.
Well, that’s everything for the week!
Peter
