Indianapolis Children’s Museum (+Bears)

Hello everyone! It was another busy (but fun) weekend…

Before I start, I just want to complain that my laptop is dying on me. I think. Not in the “I need to charge my battery kind of way”, but in the “if you don’t save everything right now you will lose all your files and pictures you have one here” kind of way.

I was in the middle of writing this very post, in fact, when Microsoft Word stopped producing a new page for me to write on. The document wouldn’t let me copy what I’d written either so I’m typing it all out on my phone now (on the JetPack app!). Strange, but not surprising. This is a very old laptop and I haven’t updated Microsoft office on it in years lol. Anyway let me get back to the post.

It started on Friday (where most of the busy-ness comes into play). I got up, changed Mr. O since he was also awake, and went downstairs to start our day with some learning from Ms. Rachel. Sidebar: I’m thinking of calling Baby O “Mr. O” from now on because he is a little man. He’s a toddler and not really a baby anymore (of course he will always be our baby), and I’ve been thinking of changing it. Maybe. We will see. End sidebar!

Once my favorite episode of Ms. Rachel was over I had to work. If you must known it’s the newest episode with Elmo. It’s SO GOOD. “This is the way that we get dressed, we get dressed, we get dressed. This is the way that we get dressed before we go to school…” It’s been stuck in my head for at least a week.

Anyways…work was very busy. Way busier than usual and I had additional responsibilities on Friday which made it a little more overwhelming than I would have liked. But that’s okay, it happens sometimes. In the middle of the day an email went out asking people to work overtime over the weekend. I volunteered, but about an hour later another email went out saying it was mandatory because not enough people volunteered and there were important things that needed to be done lol. So I guess it’s good I volunteered before it was mandatory, right? Brownie points!

So after working 8 hours on Friday I tagged on two more from 5-7 so I could knock it out quickly and not worry about it over the weekend. After I finished work my cousin came over and brought some dinner. Schoops burgers are delicious! If you’re ever in the area you have to try Schoops!

We spent the night eating and watching a couple Adam Sandler movies. Always great!

On Saturday I met Lea, Mr. O, and most of Lea’s family down in Indianapolis. We were headed to the Indianapolis Children’s museum! It was really cool!

These are just a few pictures I took. It was kind of hard to take better/more pictures because I was either chasing Mr. O around or pushing him in his stroller so he could fall asleep.

He absolutely loved the museum! There were so many things for him and his cousins to do. He got to look at trains, dinosaurs, transformers, “ball” (sports), and even took a trip to Greece! They had a whole area of “Greece” set up it was kind of cool. I’ve never been but I hope we can go one day when he is a little older.

After the museum we went our separate ways. Lea and Mr. O went back to my in-laws, while I stayed in Indianapolis to hang out with my friend and stay the night at his new apartment. It was a great time!

We went to dinner at this bar/restaurant near his apartment. Ugh I can’t remember what it’s called but it was really cool and the food was so good! Afterwards we walked around Indy for maybe 10-20 minutes then we went back to his place. We just chilled and ate snacks lol. Watched a little bit of the White Sox game, a little Harry Potter, anything that was on really.

It was just fun hanging out and seeing him again! I woke up Sunday morning and drove straight home. It was football day and the Bears played Sunday night so I didn’t want to miss anything.

It was a lazy day. We did a little bit of laundry and watched football all day. It’s a nice time of year. Unfortunately, the Bears lost. However, they lost to a really good team by only 6 points and their rookie QB, Caleb Williams, did not play as terrible as it seems. Yes, he had two bad interceptions, but 1. It’s his second NFL game and 2. The Bears offensive line sucks. So, let’s cut him some slack, shall we? Overall they did okay and I can’t wait until this offense starts clicking!

It was another great weekend.

We also have more plans coming up so I will tell you about that next week!

Peter
