Indy & my very own UFO sighting

On Saturday our little family took a trip to Indianapolis.

Our trip started how all of our trips start – me and Baby O wake up, eat, and watch a movie (or part of a movie, at least). Then we go upstairs and finish packing when Lea wakes up. On this particular Saturday, we watched The Lion King. Baby O kind of enjoyed it. Not really as much as I did, but he likes the music.

After we watched that and then finished packing, it was time to hit the road. Lea drove there while I listened to an audiobook. About 45 to 60 minutes in, we were on I-65 heading south towards Indy. I looked out the window, up in the sky, and I saw something very interesting. “Is that a UFO?” I thought to myself. I didn’t say anything to Lea because I didn’t want to distract her and she would think I’m messing with her (which is something I NEVER do). This object cruising along in the sky looked like a common craft that is spotted by UFO experiencers.

It was cigar shaped. It’s commonly referred to as a “cigar shaped UFO”. It was cylindrical, with round ends. It was shiny and silver. I sat there and analyzed it for about a minute as is it was flying through the sky at a slower speed than I expected. I was trying to tell myself “it’s just a plane”, but on planes you can see their wings, and this was lower than an airplane would be. I also didn’t see any wings. I think I knew deep down what I was seeing. An unidentified aircraft. A cigar shaped UFO! Here is an example of one I found on Google:

I looked away for one minute, maybe 30 seconds, and when I went to look at it again it was gone. There were hardly any clouds in the sky, and the ones that were up there were thin, and it would have come out the other end. It was so interesting to me, and I’m glad I didn’t freak out. I hope to see it again some day.

Once we were about 30 minutes out from the restaurant we were meeting our friends at, we drove through this little farm town. It was so cool and it reminds me of a simpler way of life. We were at a four – way – intersection and on one of the corners was this pretty little church. Imagine the stereotypical midwestern church – that’s how it looked. It was surrounded by farmland and cornfields, and it had the tall point at the top of it.

Soon after we had arrived at our destination. The reason we were going to Indy was to see all of our friends from college (there’s 7 of us and two babies. One being baby O). Two of our friends are married and they had the other baby. We went to visit because in August they are moving to Maine, and we won’t be seeing them for a long time.

We sat for lunch at this cool restaurant in Carmel, Indiana. It was called Woodys Library Restaurant. It had this neat little patio, and a really cool inside bar area. We sat outside on the patio. It was a nice lunch, catching up with old friends and having our boys meet. I got these little steak sliders to eat and they were so delicious.

Afterwards we took the boys to a splash pad in the area. They had a side with a park and another side with the splash pad. Baby O had a blast. He loved the water shooting up from the ground and continuously put his face over it lol.

The heat didn’t allow us to stay too long though, and that was okay with me. I can’t stand being all hot and sweaty lol. Further into the night our other friends met up with us at the apartment we were at. It’s always so great seeing everyone. We hung out, and eventually went for a walk. My friend that’s moving was selling his old car on Facebook marketplace, and he was meeting his buyer down the street from his apartment. So, we all went with lol. We weren’t trying to intimidate the poor guy and his friend who showed up for the car, but it was out last time all being together in that place and we didn’t want to leave anyone behind.

So, he sold the car and we made our way back to their apartment where the 7 of us and 2 babies hung out for the rest of the evening. Our little family had planned to stay the night, but we decided it was best to drive the two hours back home. Thankfully, we did. It was nice being in our own beds when we woke up this morning.

It was such a fun Saturday, and we’re going to miss our friends dearly, but we will head out to Maine at some point next year when their house is built and visit. We can’t wait!
