Fourth of July weekend

Hello readers. I hope all my fellow patriots had a great 4th of July! It really is a special holiday. Celebrating our freedom from a tyrannical government. The sad thing is 248 years later we are living under a government our founders would have fought against. That can change with the next election this November. We will see what happens. I’m not being dramatic when I say this might be our countries last chance.

Anyways, I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who reached out on my last post, I feel lost. I was feeling down about my blog, feeling like it was repetitive and needed changes. Your comments and readership reminded me why I started blogging and gave me my spark back. So again, thank you! And thank you to all my readers and followers. I deeply appreciate your support.

Now let’s talk about my life. My boring, old, wonderful life that some of you find interesting (again, I appreciate that). Yesterday was July fourth and it was a really nice day. Baby O, Lea and I hung out around the house. Lea bought us all matching T-shirts from Old Navy that had the American flag on them with a bunch of words circled around them. Yes, we are that family apparently.

We celebrated the holiday by listening to a playlist on Spotify called I’m Proud to be an American. It was a really good playlist for today. It started with God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood. Love that song. Baby O does too, apparently. He was dancing along like he’s heard it a bunch of times lol. It was his first time. After hanging out, eating some food and listening to music, we started packing for our trip up to Michigan for the weekend. One of my cousins is getting married! It’ll be so fun to see some of our family.

You must be thinking “wasn’t he just in Florida for his cousins wedding?” And to that I say Yes! But it was for a different cousin. I have a lot of cousins so don’t be surprised if you see more posts telling you about my “cousins wedding” lol. If I’m not driving I will try my best to take pictures and write down some notes so I can share our trip with you. Those kinds of posts are some of my favorites to write.

After our boy napped and we packed a little bit, we all went to Target to pick up a few things. Of course, we came home with a new toy for Baby O. He wanted this Little People toy. It’s a brand I think, where the people are really little lol. He liked the red firetruck. He played with it for a good chunk of the day when we came back home. While he was doing that we had a chance to relax a little bit. I turned on the White Sox game and watched them lose again. Ah, to be a Chicago sports fan. Where two of your lifelong teams are owned by the same bozo who has no idea how to run an organization. Jerry Reinsdorf needs to sell both teams. He is a horrible owner.

Ugh, there I go again. Whoopsie. Let me get back on track. After the Sox lost I made dinner for Baby O, while Lea made dinner for her and I. I made the little guy some chicken and mashed potatoes, while Lea and I chowed down on a few hot dogs. She likes chili cheese dogs, I enjoy mine Chicago style. Well, half Chicago style. I didn’t have all the toppings, just the relish, mustard, and buns. Look it up, there’s quite a bit that goes on those! They’re so delicious lol. After dinner we turned on one of the greatest movies of all time: Shrek. Baby O is starting to really like it, which makes me happy because I think that movie is great.

I should get going, though. Believe it or not I still have to finish packing! Have a great weekend everyone. You’ll probably hear from me soon.
