Day 2 timeline (long post ahead)
After last night’s shenanigans at the rehearsal dinner, I thought waking up today was going to be a lot harder considering I don’t drink alcohol that much anymore. However, I woke up at 6:30am feeling much better than I expected.
Once Lea woke up we went over to the Poolside Grill again and had breakfast. This time they had a delicious buffet! I had French toast, bacon, potatoes and sausage. I never eat hotel eggs. They are always gross and runny and they just don’t look appetizing to me lol.
After breakfast, we went and sat in the sun for a bit. Sitting poolside in November is so strange. I wore a hoodie because it’s been cold out here in California, but sitting directly in the sun made me uncomfortably hot, so I ended up taking it off and that felt amazing.
After a few minutes I was finally comfortable in the pool chair. I put my head phones in and listened to my Beach Bum playlist I created on Spotify. It’s 90% Jimmy Buffet and Kenny Chesney songs – I love it (especially in sunny/tropical weather).
As I was sitting out by the pool, relaxing with my music, I couldn’t help but notice how blue the sky was. It was so pretty. Hardly any clouds in sight. It was wonderful. I can see why people love California.
After 30-40 minutes out there, we decided to head back to the hotel room. We both sat on our own beds (yes we spread out and sleep in separate beds in hotels lol it’s so nice to have your own bed every once in a while!) and ended up falling asleep for a nice little nap.
Around 12:30pm we both woke up and realized we had to hurry and get dressed for the wedding. The shuttle was picking everyone up from the hotel at 2:30pm, and we both had to shower and Lea had to do her make up and all that lady stuff.
Thankfully, we were dressed in time. We got on one of the buses and off we went. The wedding was at a vineyard high up in the mountains. It was a scary bus ride, but the view was so beautiful.

The ride up there was brutal. At this time I could only imagine what the ride down would be like after the reception. There were so many curves and turns that it made me so dizzy. But I got over it thankfully.
We eventually arrived at the venue and oh my goodness it was breathtaking. Check these out:

After the ceremony is when things got a little…crazy lol. There was too much wine being drank by everyone, but on the bright side the dance floor was awesome.
It was honestly one of the most fun wedding I’ve ever been to. We had such a great time. Around 9:30pm the buses arrived to take us all back to the hotel. This is the part I was worried about the most. A bunch of people who have been drinking sitting on this bus that could very well make all of us sick (from all the turns and curves).
It was the bus ride from hell. It made me so dizzy and I felt horrible. Not as bad as some others on the bus. Let’s just say there were some accidents. You can probably figure out what I’m saying. Anyways, after 30 minutes we were back at the hotel. Lea went to sleep and I laid in bed snacking a bit before passing out. What a day!
Day 3 timeline
Day 3 was a bittersweet one. On one hand it was time to go home and see our sweet baby boy. On the other we had to leave beautiful California and put an end to one of the most fun weekends we’ve had in a while.
I woke up at 5:30 and hopped in the shower. I figured it would help take this major headache away. It did! Lol (with the help of some aspirin). Time flew by this morning. We got ourselves ready, packed our bags, and before we knew it our ride was at the hotel waiting to take us to the airport.
Once again we went to check our suite case. Again, I was worried it would be too heavy. The weight limit is 50lbs. This time ours was 49lbs so we just barely made it lol. No issues at the security check point this time either! I grabbed my stuff and we headed towards our gate.
Thankfully, there was a Great American Bagel Bakery right across from our gate, so I ordered my bacon and egg sandwich. It was delicious and really helped me feel better. An hour later we boarded the plane. We were so excited to get home to see Baby O.
It was a really great trip, and I’m so glad I was able to share it with all of you.
Until next time,
Peter
