This past Sunday was the first pre-season game of the new NBA season for the Chicago Bulls. They played the Bucks, in Milwaukee, and they played pretty well.
It’s important to point out that two major stars in Mw did not play (Giannis and Damian Lillard), but I don’t think that should take away from how well the Bulls played. Yes, they lost by three points, and yes, when Giannis and Lillard actually play they will most likely lose by a lot more, but today I’m going to be more positive about my favorite team.
Unfortunately, I was only able to watch the first period on my phone in the car, on the way to a housewarming/birthday party for a friend of ours. It’s okay, it’s just the pre-season! Lol.
Anyways…
Seeing Coby White start as the point guard was awesome. I’m very happy for him and I hope he gets the roll permanently. He deserves it. He was been putting in work every single season and off-season to better himself and it’s really paying off. No other young player has worked harder than him and it shows. He played really well, and I know it doesn’t matter to him but I am proud of him lol. I hope to see more of him as a starter!
Patrick Williams also stood out to me as someone who has improved. He looked way more aggressive with the ball and shot really well (from what I saw). He looked like a totally different player and I loved it. I hope he continues to have that confidence because he can be really good for this team.
Nikola Vucevic. I’ve had some things to say about him the last couple seasons and my opinions have been very mixed. One thing that has stayed consistent though, is my opinion that he should stay down low, in the paint, and to STOP SHOOTING SO MANY THREE’S. There’s no need for it. The Bulls picked up a couple shooters, Coby’s shooting has improved tremendously, and Zach LaVine can also shoot very well. So I would appreciate if he stayed down low more often. He’s not a bad shooter, I just think he plays better as a big – man when he stays down low.
Overall, even with the loss, I think they did really well. I was happy to see they only lost by three points. I think this could be a good season, but I’m not getting my hopes up!
