Life – Anniversary, Bears, & Current Events

Hello, good evening everyone! I wanted to hop on for another late (but not so late) night post. 

There’s been a few things going on lately and, as always, I wanted to share! Last Friday was our five – year wedding anniversary. It was a really relaxing night. Lea and I went to the Lighthouse, as I mentioned in my last post, and had some win, whiskey, and incredible steaks. Then, we finished the night by accepting an offer on our house! Oh, and watching Harry Potter, because, you know, it’s spooky season. 

We are thrilled to have accepted an offer, and are praying everything goes smoothly and we get the “cleared – to – close” signal in the near future. We haven’t found our forever home yet, but that is okay. We’re going to be staying at my moms saving money for a few more months before we start looking again.

This past Sunday the Chicago Bears had their first game of the season against the Green Bay Packers (yuck!). Unfortunately (and as usual), the Bears lost. They lost bad. They lost so bad that fans were leaving Soldier Field in Chicago before the game was even over. Although the game was no fun, watching it was a blast! 

I went to this bar/restaurant in the region called Cheers, and hung out with three good friends of mine. We ate, drank, and laughed for hours (or until the game was over). It was a good time and I’m glad I had a chance to catch up with them. 

Tonight I went to watch my hometown high school soccer team play. Yes, it is the team I played for! However, tonight I went to go see my cousin play. I haven’t had a chance to go all season so I am happy I was able to tonight! They won four to zero lol. It was a really fun game to watch and he played well.

This weekend coming up is going to be a fun one also. Lea and Oliver will be out of town, so me and some friends are going to hang out and maybe have a few drinks. It’s been too long and I need a relaxing weekend! Being a dad can get tiring! Also, thank you Lea for allowing me to have a free weekend. I appreciate it!

That’s all the updates I had for myself tonight lol. There has been a lot going on in the news though, and it’s been hard not to talk about. I don’t want this blog to be about politics, so I have been trying to stay away from it, but there have been some big stories lately. The current President has had the former President (who is also his number one political rival) indicted. That is an insane thing to happen in America. Where are we? What country is this? It feels like our timeline has changed. This is definitely not the country I grew up in anymore.
