Baby Teeth & Writing Practice

Hi! Good evening (or whatever time it is wherever you are reading this from). It’s good to be back. I hope I can get into a writing routine! Tonight I wanted to talk about a few things going on in my life (again).

As you know we have our home up for sale, which means we have been living at my mom’s because it’s too hard to get it ready for a showing with a baby and two cats lol. It’s sad to leave that house behind, but it’s for the best. I was there today working and it didn’t really feel like home anymore. I think it’s because it was just so empty. Lea, Oliver and the cats weren’t there and it was so quiet. It was sad. 

We’re still looking for homes, and we’ve had a few we really like, but it’s hard to make an offer when no one has bought our house yet lol. So, we will see what happens with that! Wherever we are, it will make my commute to Chicago so much easier. Alright, enough with the boring talk about moving and work. I have something exciting to share (well, exciting to me anyways)! Baby Oliver is getting two little teeth on his bottom gums! They are adorable. My poor boy has been in a terrible mood though. It’s been on and off, so currently he’s in a really good mood. However, that makes me worried for tomorrow. But I’m sure he’ll be fine. He is getting so big now. He’s five months old, has two little teeth coming in and is starting to get some hair! As I write this he is sitting across from me at the kitchen table. He’s in one of his bouncy chairs bouncing himself up and down lol. 

Last Saturday we had a family reunion. It was in Illinois at a certain lake a family member of mine owns and lives at. It’s a beautiful property and we always have so much fun going there every now and then to see the family. This year we had over fifty people! And of course, Oliver was the star of the show. It was a great day, even if it rained the whole time lol.

Lately I have also been doing a lot of writing. It’s mostly just for me, but it’s fun and it’s good practice. Maybe someday I will share it on here. Currently, I’ve been working on a short SciFi story for this website. They let people submit stories on a prompt they send out each week and they pick the ones they think are the best. It’s only five dollars to enter, so it’s not terrible if my story doesn’t get picked. Honestly, I’m not expecting it to. I don’t even know if I’ll get it done in time lol I have to upload it by Thursday and I have to finish the first draft tonight, then edit and then write my second and final draft (those may be the same thing considering I don’t have time lol). Anyways, it’s been really fun writing this short story and just letting my mind and fingers wonder. I’m excited to see how it ends! 

I’m currently being stared at from across the table, so that means I should go and play with my son a bit. I’ll talk to you again soon and I hope you are all doing well!
