Happy 4th of July!

Ah, July 4th. 4th of July. Independence Day. Today we celebrate America’s independence. We celebrate freedom, and all that comes with it. We celebrate our great country and her short history.

I know people who live elsewhere are probably tired of hearing Americans talk about how great we think our country is, and I don’t blame you. Even I get annoyed sometimes, but America is just so special. Yes, like every country, we’ve had horrible mistakes, and we’ve tried to make them right.

America is special to me because I believe she is blessed. During the revolutionary war, the colonists fighting for freedom were outnumbered by the British, yet they won. They overcame the odds and by the grace of God and they won. I truly believe this country was blessed by God. There’s no other explanation. America should not exist. There was no reason for her to, but freedom found a way. Freedom always finds a way.

I love America and everything about her. The past is the past and we need to learn from it, not hide from it, or shame people who obviously weren’t alive back then for it, and make ourselves better. We need to make our country even greater than we think she is. And I think we can do it. We’re in a tough spot right now, but like I said, America is blessed. We will right the ship, we will find our way out of this and back into the light.

Today, to celebrate this special holiday, Lea, Oliver and I were invited to my friends family cookout. It should be a good time! It’s supposed to be ninety degrees today though, so maybe I’ll hang out in side a little bit lol. Baby O is still too young for fireworks, so we won’t be going to any shows unfortunately. But that’s okay! He has actually been sleeping through them at night (which has really surprised us lol).

Happy 4th of July everyone! I hope you have an awesome day.
