Superman: Legacy will introduce The Authority

More exciting news about the new Superman movie (set to release in 2025) came out recently and I’ve been waiting to see if it gets “debunked” before talking about it. However, it’s been a few days now and I haven’t seen a single person, including James Gunn himself, say this report wasn’t true.

Per The Direct, “A new report from The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that another group of superheroes will debut alongside the Man of Steel in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy. According to this report, The Authority, who are set to get their own film in the upcoming DCU reboot, will be joining the fun in Superman’s upcoming reboot.”

This movie is going to be awesome, isn’t it? I cannot wait. I really enjoyed reading The Authority, as you can see from my DC Comics Storylines Part 6 post. The characters were great. They are like a morally – gray Justice League. They do what they feel needs to be done in order to protect the world. It will be interesting to see how they interact with Superman, since they have different values and different thoughts about how to handle things.

Superman: Legacy is also going to introduce a bunch of other characters and heroes, supposedly. It’s going to be one exciting movie, and I’m not saying this yet, but so far it sounds like it has the potential to be one of the best Superman movies ever made. We will see how it is in a couple years. However, knowing the way James Gunn writes and directs, I expect it to have a lot of emotion (and great music), which people love when watching a movie.

On another DC note, I bought tickets to The Flash! I’m so excited for this movie and I will definitely write a review (with no spoilers). It comes out this Friday. I bought two IMAX tickets at our local theater and I am going with two friends of mine. I was going to go with Lea but our babysitter plans did not work out how I imagined. Which is okay! It just means I get to go see the movie twice because Lea wants to see it too lol.

I’m very excited for the future of the DCU and its characters!
