Life – Late night post (sort of)

Good evening. Welcome to the late – night edition of The Region Life. My name is Peter and I’ll be your host. Kidding. It’s only around 10 PM central time here in the region, but it’s way later than when I usually post. I haven’t had time throughout the week after I get home, so I’ve been putting it off a bit. But now since baby O is asleep I wanted to take some time and talk about what’s been going on.

Let’s see what has been going on with me. Beside work, nothing much. Yesterday, after I left my office, I was walking to the train station. I always try to catch the 5:01. It gets me home a little sooner than usual and I enjoy that. More time with my little family! Anyways, I was walking to the train and I was stopped at this crosswalk because the light hadn’t changed yet. I heard lots of commotion so I turned my head to the right and looked a little ways down the street and what do I see? A huge group of people video taping two guys beating the snot out of each other. Welcome to Chicago, am I right?

It was tough to watch for the few seconds I was waiting there, but what else was I supposed to do? Me and this older man made eye contact and he just shook his head. What crazy, chaotic times we live in. No police were around, no one tried to stop it. Their “friends” just video taped it all. One guy on top of the other bashing his fists into the other guys face. It was gross, and a little frightening if I’m being honest. Eventually, the light changed and I was on my way. I know that sounds kind of, I don’t know, “cruel”? Is that the word I’m looking for? Not sure. But what was I supposed to do? I’m not getting in the middle of that! It’s their business. 

Anyways, I eventually returned home and all was well here in Indiana. Besides that chaos from the other day, I’ve just been helping take care of Oliver and reading. I’ve taken a little break from comic books by the way. I was getting burnt out. I will eventually have my DC comic storyline published again, but not anytime soon. I’m in the middle of one book and then have a whole other to read before I write that up. However, as I said, I was getting burnt out. I started reading actual books and I am currently making my way through two, so that is taking up most of my time at night. 

Tomorrow (Friday) one of my younger cousins is having his high school graduation party. It should be a good time with our extended family. On Sunday, a family friend is baptizing their baby girl, so that will be a really special day for her and her family. Speaking of, Oliver’s baptism is coming up soon! Lea has been working hard on making sure everything is perfect. Our little guy is growing so fast. He’s already three months old!

Besides all of this mentioned above, the only other thing I have been doing is working on some writing. Right now it’s private so I won’t elaborate, but it’s nice to do every once in a while. Get everything out in the open. That’s what we do, right? As bloggers/writers we use our thoughts and feelings to shape how we write and what we right. It’s therapeutic! 

Alright, I need to go to sleep. Baby O will be up around 4 AM for his first meal of the day, and it’s my night to get up with him! Have a great night.
