Life – Back to work & Mother’s Day

Hello readers and happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! Happy first Mother’s Day to my beautiful wife, Lea. I hope you had an amazing day and I hope you know Oliver and I appreciate you so much! Thanks for all that you do.

This weekend was pretty nice overall. Lea and Oliver were out of town Thursday to Saturday afternoon, so I had a lot of time to myself. To say I missed them is an understatement! However, our niece had a talent show on Thursday and I had my first day back at work on Friday, so it worked out because Lea wanted to go to the talent show and also give me a good nights sleep before going back to work.

Starting work again was okay. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be lol. I really only worked three hours Friday since I had to spend so much time with IT trying to regain access to all our systems, and I also had to call HR since they kept telling me Oliver was denied as my dependent. They were saying that I didn’t upload his documents in time, even though I uploaded them weeks before (as I told them). Eventually, it was figured out and all is well, thankfully! Even with all these issues I had to deal with, it was nice being back at work and connecting with my co – workers. Tomorrow I have to go into the office in Chicago, so we will see how that goes lol. Before I took my leave I changed my in – office days to Monday, Wednesday, Thursday. I’m hoping that day at home on Tuesday will help out a little bit and give me some energy back. We will see!

Friday night after work I went over to my friends house. I had dinner with him and his parents – it was really fun! He grilled some steaks and made multiple sides to go with it. It was a fun time. We watched basketball, talked politics, and hung out. Which is something we haven’t done in a while. Like I said, it was a good time!

Saturday morning I met my mom at a great breakfast spot in the region – Omelette House. The food is so good and they give you such big plates lol. It was a good time and an early Mother’s Day gift. Today, on Mother’s Day, we had a relaxing, rainy day. My mom came over and I grilled hot dogs and hamburgers. She brought potatoes and desert! It was a really good spread. Oliver, of course, loved seeing his Yiayia (grandma). He was all smiles! (Don’t mind the messed up burger in the picture below. I ruined it lol)

It was a great weekend and I had lots of fun! I hope you all had a good weekend and a great Mother’s Day.
