Hello! I hope you all had a great weekend. Ours was so much fun! I decided to create a short vlog for you all. I hope you enjoy it. I figured it was time to try something new. I’ve made a video once before when rearranging my office, and I thought the concert and our trip would be even better content lol
Thanks for watching! I hope you liked it. This past weekend was awesome! Lea and I left Oliver at my moms, where he was so spoiled by his grandmother and all his aunts. I think it’s safe to say he enjoyed himself lol!
To start our trip, Lea and I stopped at Dunkin Donuts for some food and coffee (yum!). A few minutes later we were finally on the road. It was a two – and – a – half – hour drive, so it wasn’t too bad. We’re used to driving that long since we go visit her family frequently.
Fun fact: did you know you can’t turn left in Michigan? Lol. You have to go straight and then make a U – turn (or turn right) when you’re at an intersection. It was strange and definitely something to get used to since we were driving around there for a bit trying to find our hotel.
Once we arrived, we opened a bottle of whiskey and got ready for dinner. Has anyone ever heard of Wahlburgers? It’s a restaurant chain owned by the actor Mark Wahlberg and his family. One of his brothers is the chef.

The food was SO GOOD! I love their burgers, they make them so thick and juicy lol. The concert itself was easily the best part of the trip (not to mention the only reason we went to Grand Rapids, Michigan) lol! The show opened with Kelsea Ballerini, who was fantastic. I’ve never seen her (or Kenny) live, but the drive was totally worth it. Kenny Chesney is my favorite artist. I love his music, so of course I thought the show was totally awesome.

It was such a blast. It was his I Go Back tour so he sang a bunch of older songs. He even sang two songs that he hasn’t performed in TEN years! It was so special and cool to hear them live. Thankfully, he played Anything but Mine – my favorite song. For a few minutes I didn’t think he was going to play it because he walked off stage and the lights turned off lol. It was very dramatic leading up to it, I don’t know if that was intentional or not. He probably just needed a break. But when it came on we were so thrilled!

This past weekend is definitely one of my favorites. The music was great, and hanging out with my wife was so much fun. Of course, we missed Oliver, but it was a much needed one – night – get away. We were hoping to get some good sleep after the concert, but for a number of reasons we did not. First, we were standing at the show for three or four hours, so our backs hurt lol. Second, the bed and the pillows at the hotel were so uncomfortable! I’m not sure if it was just because our backs already hurt or what. Lastly, the stupid hotel alarm clock (without us ever touching it) went off at six in the morning! Why does this happen?! So, no, we did not get great sleep lol.

Overall, it was a great weekend. Filled with fun, love and laughter. We’re happy to be home though and see our boy. I hope you enjoyed this post and my video! Please share and subscribe if you did!
