Early Christmas!

Hello, readers! I wanted to share about the early Christmas celebration we had at my in-laws this weekend. It was a great time, as always!

We left our house Saturday morning around 8 a.m. My wife’s family lives about two – and – a half hours away in Indiana – south of us. It’s a boring drive, we take one road the whole time, but we’re used to it! We’ve been doing this drive to and from our home town for about eight years now!

By the time we got there it was almost noon (eastern time), and everyone was there waiting, all excited to sit and talk with us about the baby on the way. That’s all anyone wants to talk to us about these days, and that’s fine with me! I feel so blessed to get the opportunity to parent, I can talk about our future child all day. Anyways, that’s a post for another day. After chatting for a bit and playing with our nieces and nephew, we eventually sat and ate lunch that my mother-in-law made. It was delicious.

There were appetizers – crackers with little slices of pepperoni and cheese, a big cheese-ball, vegetables (broccoli, tomatoes, etc.), and a bunch of little sweets. The main lunch she made was a beef and vegetable soup. As I said above, it was so good. After eating we opened presents! I think it goes without saying, the kids were the most excited AND our child received the more gifts than Lea and I did combined…and he’s not even here yet! (oops did I say he? I am not sure if I made that public yet…anyways…) Here is what he received:

How adorable are those little outfits?! Can’t wait to see him in them. We just want him to be here already!

I got some cool things too. Not as much as him, but enough! I know Christmas isn’t about gifts and materialistic things, but I think it’s part of the holiday spirit – giving and receiving – and I wanted to share what I got with you all!

First, I received this indoor putting mat so I can practice my golf game throughout the winter. I am so excited for it!

Next, staying with the golf theme, I got a driver head cover (bulls themed of course) and a keyboard and mouse for my PC! I’m new to the PC gaming life, and haven’t done much of it yet, but I hope to with my new keyboard and mouse!

And last, I opened what I think is my favorite gift. A vinyl Frank Sinatra album. I love Sinatra’s music. Something about it is calming and makes me feel classy. I also love using my record player, so this will sound great and I can’t wait to sit back with a glass of whiskey and listen.

Overall, it was a great early Christmas and a great weekend. I hope you all had a great weekend!

P.S. this is the Christmas tree in my office building in Chicago!

Merry Christmas!
