Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

Monday morning was rough. I slept through all three of my alarms and woke up late. Mr. O was also in our bed again, and he also slept through my alarms, Lol. When we finally got out of bed, I quickly made Mr. O breakfast and locked myself in my office to start work. This was the first time I cut it too close with sleeping in. Thankfully, I woke up with enough time to get ready for work and feed our boss. As it turns out, all that rushing was almost for nothing, because we had another very slow day at work. I had some work in the morning, but the rest of the day I mostly completed my required training. In the evening, Lea went to dinner with one of my cousins, so me and Mr. O had the house to ourselves. We played and then I made us dinner while we watched playoff football. Once I put Mr. O down to sleep, I thought he would be knocked out the rest of the night. Nope! He was calling for me around midnight again: “Dadaaaa! Dadaaa I’m awake come get me! Dadaaa I sleep with you?” Lol. Of course I went to grab him and he came to sleep with me.

Once again, we both woke up early on Tuesday. Well, maybe not “once again” since we both slept through all of my alarms the day before, but we were still up “early”! I got both of us ready for the day, made a quick breakfast for Mr. O, and then packed him up in the car and drove him to daycare. On the way there he had just realized he had eyebrows, and that he could lift them up. So, as you can imagine, he was raising his brow the rest of the drive and was very excited to show “Rara” (that’s what he calls the woman who runs the daycare). When I said bye to him, he kind of brushed me off. He put his hand up, said “Bye, Dada” and went to play immediately, Lol. He could at least act like he’ll miss me!

When I came home I still had an hour before work started, so I played Madden. In the afternoon, on my break, I took a twenty minute walk on my treadmill because I felt disgusting. I’m sure some can relate. I’ve been eating poorly lately and because of that my energy level for exercise has been very low. So has my motivation, but I’m trying to get back into it. In the evening, Lea and Mr. O finally came home. Lea made us tacos, and then Mr. O and I ran around upstairs, kicked his little soccer ball back and forth, and played with his Superman and Batman toys. Finally, it was time for bed. I read him a few books (Cat in the Hat, Curious George, Grumpy Monkey), rocked him to sleep and laid him down. Then, I went to play Madden again. If you follow regularly, you know I started a new season with the Tennessee Titans. Well, it was a losing season and I decided I didn’t want to waste my time on it anymore, so I scrapped it entirely. Deleted. Gone! I started a brand new season with the Bears, with a brand new coach: Larz Honeytoast. It’s been eating away at me for weeks that I just gave up with my team, so I wanted to really try again with a fresh start and see if we can win the Super Bowl. So far, it seems it is very likely! But we’ve been down this road too many times before. We started the new season with a win under Head Coach Honeytoast.

If you’re wondering where that name came from, or why it sounds familiar, it’s from the Even Stevens movie. The one from Disney Channel back in the day, Lol. On Wednesday I was up early. Mr. O finally slept in a little bit. When the rest of my family woke up, Lea made cinnamon rolls. It was a nice surprise. Mr. O was exploring the childrens Netflix section and came across Teletubbies. He was laughing at the show for a bit, but then decided he’d had enough. In the evening, I was still so full from lunch (I had leftovers from the night before: lots of turkey, mashed potatoes, and green beans), so I told Lea she didn’t have to cook if she didn’t want to. She wasn’t hungry either. Later on I had a bowl of cereal, but that was it. My stomach felt like it was going to explode! Mr. O and I went up to his playroom to play while Lea did some laundry. Soon after, it was bedtime. The little man was not happy about it. I convinced him to brush his teeth and to let me change him, but it came at a cost. I had to let him run around upstairs for a few minutes to get his extra energy out, lol. After he went to sleep, I continued my season with the Bears on Madden and we became 3-0 on this night! Great start.

Thursday was the day we began taking Mr. O to daycare twice a week now, instead of one. So we did our normal routine and I packed him in the car with all his stuff. I drove him there, came home, and had another slow day at work. In the evening, Lea and Mr. O came home. He was exhausted. He plopped on the couch and sat there with his blanket, silently watching one of his shows to wind down. After dinner we played for a little bit to get whatever energy he had left out, and I put him down to sleep. On Friday I was up early again. I made Mr. O and I breakfast (we let Lea sleep in. She’s been exhausted). Then, when Lea was up and ready for the day, she took Mr. O and they went to Target. They love going together. They both get Starbucks (He gets an ice water and one of those cake things) and walk around to look at everything. Of course, he came home with a new toy — another monster truck. Fortunately for me, we had an early release because of the holiday weekend, so I was able to get done at 3:30 PM and go get Mr. O up after his nap. We played and then ordered food from Aurelios for dinner. Later on after Mr. O went to sleep, I played Madden while Lea colored. My Bears are now 5-0 on the season. Coach Honeytoast is a real difference maker it seems.

When I woke up Saturday I set a new rule for myself: No social media on the weekends. I only allowed myself to check WordPress so I could read some blogs. It’s been rough. I never realized it would be such a hard habit to break, but I’ve been doing alright with it so far. When Mr. O was up he was begging to go sleep with his Mama in the guest room. So I took him in there, but unfortunately for Lea, he did not want to go back to sleep. Keep in mind this is between 5 and 6 AM, lol. Instead, he played with his frog stuffed animal. Then he started poking her face and saying, “Mama its 5 o’clock the suns up its time to get dressed!” I could hear him saying that and giggling from our bathroom. I was in there brushing my teeth, I had an early dentist appointment I had to get to. It is so cool how everyone around here loves the Bears. When I arrived for my appointment, the woman at the front desk and I talked about the Bears the entire time. Then, when the assistant or hygienist (sorry I can’t remember what they are called) brought me back to the room, we spoke about the Bears as well. Well, as much as we could before she cleaned my teeth. Then, the Dentist came in to check on everything, and he began to tell me his hopes and dreams for the Bears this weekend, Lol. He told me which scenario he would like better for the team. He wanted the 49ers to beat the Seahawks, that way Chicago would get another home playoff game and the 49ers are injured so we could beat them. We spoke for a few minutes on the Bears before I left. It’s so great to see the enthusiasm and how happy everyone is with the team.

When I came home, Mr. O went down for a nap and I continued my win streak in Madden. 5-0 turned to 6-0. Then 6-0 turned to 6-1 (I’d rather not talk about it), then 6-1 turned in to 6-2 (Not happy). Then…6-2 turned in to 7-2. Now we’re back on track, Lol. I know you all don’t care, but this is what’s been eating a significant amount of my time lately. After I finished playing Lea mentioned some of her markers were running out of ink. So I went to Target and bought her a new journal to color in and more markers. I also bought Mr. O a Spiderman action figure. He’s obsessed with Spiderman all of the sudden and he loves his new toy. In the evening, we went to my grandmas for her 83rd birthday party. Most of our family was there, it was fun. Mr. O packed his Spiderman backpack, or as he calls it “packpack”, with Spiderman (of course), Chase from Paw Patrol and his car, and his camera. We ate pizza, salad, cake and ice cream while we hung out and watched playoff football.

On Sunday Mr. O and I went to church. He was a good boy, as usual, and once again everyone wanted his attention. He played in Sunday school and then we came home. As I write this, Mr. O is napping, Lea just came home from grocery shopping, where she said all the men are in Bears gear trying to hurry up and get out of the store before the game (The game is at 5:30pm CT…It’s only 1:30PM CT right now lol), and I am wrapping this up so I can relax before I head to my friend Toby’s house to watch the Bears take on the Rams in the playoffs. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous for this game. I hope the Bears can pull another victory out! Go Bears! BEAR DOWN! Lets goooooo!!!!

Have a great week! When you read this it will be Monday, so my week will depend on how tonight goes, Lol.

Peter
