Weekly Review 65

Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

On Monday I was up bright and early. I’m used to waking up early because Mr. O usually does, but this time he actually slept in, which I appreciated. I was able to eat in peace (which I’ve mentioned I love doing in the mornings many times before) and relax on the couch before he woke up. Then I got him up and out of his crib and he helped me put some of my clothes away that were sitting in the laundry basket for about a week. I’m really bad about putting my things away, lol. When we finished, we were laying on the bed while Lea was putting some of her things away, and Mr. O wanted to call one of my aunts. “Call Mimi NOW” he demanded. So, we facetimed my aunt (thankfully she was awake!) and he convinced her to come over later in the afternoon. Well, he didn’t have to do much convincing, lol. “Mimi come over” is all he said and then she said “I’ll be there after nap time”. The day went by quickly, and my aunt came and went. Mr. O was very happy. It didn’t last long. He started acting like his normal two-year-old self and ended up in time out. He is so funny, though. When in time out, he keeps trying to get up and leave before we tell him he can. When we say “Sit down” or “Get back in your seat”, he responds with “No, I can’t listen” or “I’m busy doing something right now” lol. He’s so funny.

Once he started behaving, I cleaned the snow and ice off of my car and went to Menards. I had ordered a snowblower and I was headed into town to pick it up. When I came home Lea was making dinner. On this night she made buttered noodles and garlic bread. It was delicious, as always. After dinner we facetimed by grandma and aunt so they could see Mr. O, played in the playroom, and I ended the night with a quick thirty minute walk on the treadmill. I did not realize so much happened on Monday until I wrote this lol.

Tuesday was a long day for me again. Mr. O was up in the middle of the night, but thankfully Lea took him to the guest room to sleep with him. Later on in the morning, I drove him to daycare. He was so happy to be there he almost forgot to give me a hug and say goodbye. After work, I finished my cousins fantasy football newsletter and sent it out, popped a pizza in the oven and watched the show Nashville while my family and I ate and hung out. After Mr. O went to sleep, I took the Bears to the superbowl for the second season in a row as head coach. We lost (again) by 3 points, all because I went for it on 4th down instead of punting. If I had punted, we would have gone to overtime and we probably could have won. Instead, I am on my third season as head coach and we are NOT good. Last season was THE season to win. We were dominant all season. Now, we’re 3-3 and I don’t even know if we’ll make the playoffs. I did, however, get my contract extended again, so we will have a couple more chances to win at least one ring before I move on to a different team.

On Wednesday morning, Mr. O and I layed in our bed and watched TV before I went downstairs to work. It was a long, boring day at my desk and I was so happy when it was over. The middle of the week is always a tough one. After work we played with Mr. O and then he helped me do the dishes. He got water everywhere! Lol. It’s okay, it was fun. Then, we played catch before bed. Well, we tried. I threw the ball to him to teach him out to catch. He whipped it at my head trying to hit me. Close enough, right?!

On Thursday I wrote a quick post about the new Supergirl trailer on my lunch break. It was great to see! After work, I went to get a haircut for Christmas, while Lea and Mr. O made dinner. Once Mr. O went down for the night, I went out to Culvers and picked up some ice cream for Lea and I. We finished the night watching some TV and hanging out. It’s always fun spending time with my wife!

When Friday evening came around, we did our usual playing with Mr. O. Then I went outside to shovel for a few minutes. Thankfully, it didn’t snow too bad, so I didn’t have to be out there for too long and it was a quick shovel. When I came back in, Mr. O wanted to watch a YouTube video of some guy wood carving a Boeing airplane, lol. It was kind of interesting, but didn’t hold his attention long. Which was disappointing because I wanted to see the final product. Lea eventually made us tacos, then we played in Mr. O’s playroom and gave him a bubble bath before bed. Mr. O started feeling unwell towards the end of the night, which was the first bad sign. Soon, I started feeling the same way. Then, all three of us were sleeping in our bed and we were all up all night trying to sleep. None of us have felt great this week. Eventually, we all fell asleep, and Mr. O seems to be feeling better, which is all that matters.

On Saturday morning I had to sneak out of the bed because I didn’t want to wake Mr. O. It was tough, but I did it! That little stinker was sleeping sideways, with his head on leas stomach and his feet on mine, lol. I was still feeling terrible, but it was nice to have some quiet time in the morning. We relaxed and watched TV all day. We normally don’t let him watch much TV, but I was feeling horrible. Lea had some errands to run (Christmas gifts, groceries, etc), so me and Mr. O were on our own for a few hours. We played occassionally, but I really needed to rest. Mr. O’s energy was slowly coming back and he was wearing me out, lol. Later that night, Lea put him to bed, and I took a full dosage of NyQuil and passed out.

When I woke up on Sunday I was feeling a lot better! My throat wasn’t hurting anymore, but I am congested in my nose and ears. It sucks, but it will go away in a couple of days. When Lea and Mr. O got up, we all got ready and headed to church. Mr. O was in the Christmas program and he definitely stole the show, lol. It was a nice day, and he got to see Santa after church too. When we came home, he went down for a nap, while Lea and I relaxed and watched the Bears dominate the Browns! What a game that was. Proud of my team. Currently, the game is about to end. There’s 25 seconds left and the Bears lead 31-3.

It was a fun week. I hope you all had a great one and continue to have many more.

Peter
