Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

On Monday I had the day off for a doctor appointment. I was up early, as usual, with Mr. O and we were downstairs playing for a bit before I had to leave. I was sitting on the floor and he was running circles around me, Lol. He was excited because he knew I wasn’t working and that means we could play all day. Soon, I had to leave for my appointment. Mr. O was okay with it becasue he knew I was coming back in a few hours. Thankfully, it was quicker than I’d originally thought. When I got home Mr. O was napping, so I made myself lunch and relaxed with Lea for a bit. When the little man woke up I walked into his room and he immediately screamed “NOOOOOOO!” He wanted someone else to be walking through that door. For some reason he wanted my aunt, Lol. I gave him some space and came back a few minutes later and he was fine with me getting him out of his crib. We ended up staying upstairs for a bit playing in his playroom. In the evening, I made us all cheeseburgers, and then I had to go shovel the driveway again. We’ve been getting hit hard with snow lately. Snow and really, really cold weather. It’s no fun! I will say, I do like wearing hoodies and sweaters, though. So, really, I guess I don’t mind the cold weather. After Mr. O went to sleep, Lea and I watched the second movie of The Maze Runner series. I was NOT into it. This one completely lost me the second it was about *Spoiler alert* zombies. I cannot stand zombies. I’ve never been interested in zombies, and I think making movies with them as a central focus is unoriginal and boring. Maybe that’s just me, but that’s how I feel! I was dozing off here and there, and eventually we went to bed.

On Tuesday morning, I was up bright (?) and early to shovel the driveway again. I question whether or not I should say “bright” and early because it’s pretty dark this time of year in the mornings and early evenings. I don’t mind it, but most people can’t stand how most of the winter months are just darkness. Anyway, after I shoveled I completed my long work day, and then I went for a drive to go pick up a few things. When I came home Lea put a pizza in the oven and we started watching this show Nashville. It came out a long time ago. Lea’s seen it before, but I haven’t so we turned it on. It’s not that bad. To end the night, I gave Mr. O a bath, and then we continued watching our show.

After I prepared myself for the day and ate breakfast, I had some time to write in my journal on Wednesday morning. It felt better this time around and I’m glad I took the time to do it. In the evening, Lea made dinner, and Mr. O discovered this new rocket toy that we hadn’t opened yet. He’s obsessed with it! It’s one of those foam rockets that has it’s own launch pad. So when you squeeze it the rocket shoots off and flies. It’s simple, but cool. Mr. O loves it. We took it upstairs and played with it some more in his playroom. Then, he became distracted by his trains and we started playing with those. It was a good day overall.

On Thursday morning around 2 AM, Mr. O was up and calling for me. I went to grab him and brought him to our bed. He kept waking up asking me to go downstairs to “Watch Choo-choo”, Lol. I had to keep telling him “No, buddy, it’s time to go to sleep”, and then he’d throw himself down and go to sleep, only to wake up again a few minutes later to ask me the same question. It was a long night. We woke up around 7 AM! Before work, we played with his little rocket toy while watching videos on YouTube of actual rocket launches. This boy is becoming obsessed! He had fun playing and watching, though, so it’s okay. When I signed off from work and walked out into our living room, there was nobody there. It was oddly quiet in the house. I went upstairs to find Lea picking up a few things, and Mr. O laying under the covers on my side of the bed watching TV in our room! He looked at me and said “Hi, Dada. Off work? Lay with me!” So I laid down of course and we watched some show on Disney +. It was some animated Iron Man show, except the characters are kids. I don’t know what it’s called. We watched that in bed for a bit, then he suddenly had a burst of energy so we started wrestling, then laid back down to watch TV. It was a fun night. Lea also made a really good dinner. She was trying this new recipe, I can’t remember what it was called, but it was like chicken, and cheese, and some type of bread/biscuit. I don’t know, I’m sorry! Either way it was delicious and I hope she makes it again sometime soon. After dinner, Mr. O went to sleep, while I walked on my treadmill and watched Nashville with Lea.

I don’t have anything written down for Friday besides “Bulls game”. My in-laws came to visit and go to a game with Lea and I. It was fun! They played the Indiana Pacers and, of course, the Bulls lost. I knew their hot start of 5-0 was not going to last. I wish I had more faith in my favorite team, but they’ve given me no reason to believe in them. The organization is so terrible I don’t see any future for them, ever. Anyway, regardless of the loss, the game was fun and it was a good night. When Saturday finally came around, Lea’s parents went home and we played with Mr. O all morning until nap time. Then when he fell asleep, I worked out in the basement, cleaned myself up for the day, and still had enough time to read for a bit while he napped. In the evening, I went to a certain store to pick up certain Christmas gifts for certain people. I don’t know who all reads this so I want to be careful not to spoil anything! Once I left this certain place, I went to get an oil change for my car. I cannot believe how expensive this has gotten. While I was sitting there listening to this guy tell me what the charge was for simply getting my oil changed, I was searching on my phone for local, family run places to see if there was anywhere cheaper I could go next time. I think I found one, we will see. A few minutes later I left and went to an Orthodox Church nearby to pick up some food for dinner. They were having a little festival and they were selling food and desserts, so I went to pick up two chicken dinners for me and Lea, a pastichio dinner for Mr. O, and some Spanakopita for myself to snack on for the next couple of days. It was all really good! After we ate, we ended the night playing with Mr. O.

Finally, Sunday had arrived. As soon as I woke up I was surprised to see snow on the ground, so I put on my shoveling clothes and went outside immediately to take care of it. Thankfully, it wasn’t much and I was able to clear the driveway in about 20 minutes. Then, I came inside to get myself and Mr. O ready for church. I took Mr. O to Sunday school today and he had a lot of fun. He colored, played with the toys, and even got a role in the Christmas program for next Sunday! He’s going to be dressed up as a star, lol. All he has to do is stand there, but I know he won’t do that. He will still look super cute, though. After church, Mr. O went down for a nap, and I went to a few stores to pick up some groceries and salt for the driveway. When I came back, we ate lunch, Mr. O woke up, and we turned on the oldest (and best) rivalry in the NFL – Bears vs. Packers. It was a really great game, and I’m proud of my Bears, even if they lost by one touchdown. We play Green Bay again in a couple of weeks and I think they will be more prepared for them next time. In the evening, Lea made a new recipe for dinner again. This time it was this chicken cobbler, but to me it looked and tasted just like chicken pot pie, and I am not complaining. I love pot pie! The meal was great. To finish off the week, we played with Mr. O, gave him a bath, and watched our show . Now, I’m writing this to all of you, and getting ready to head upstairs and lay down.

I hope you all had a great week! Good night, morning, and afternoon! I don’t know when any of you are reading this so I wanted to cover all my bases!

Peter
