Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

On Monday I woke up early and was suprised I had enough time to do anything other than eat. With Mr. O sleeping in an extra few minutes, I was able to journal for a bit. It was nice and kind of relaxing. I don’t know, maybe it was getting out a bunch of things that bother me, or that have been on my mind, but I felt a little stressed out writing it all down, so that’s why it was only “kind of” relaxing for me. Some days are better than others! When Mr. O woke up we did our normal morning routine and went downstairs to eat and play before I started working. After work, he really wanted me to play with him and I was suprised to see he had built his own little track! He was so cute about it, he was so excited to show me. He has this tall Hot Wheels track that has a loop at the bottom and he added his train tracks to the end of the Hot Wheels track to make the track longer for his cars. He’s so smart. We had a lot of fun playing with it. Later in the evening, when I was getting him ready for bed, he didn’t want to be put down. He just wanted to “Cuddle a little bit longer”. So, I cuddled him for a long time until he was ready to be laid down. Then, I walked for an hour while Lea and I watched out show.
On Tuesday Mr. O and I were up earlier than usual. I got him ready for daycare, and then we watched The Magic School Bus since we had time to kill. He liked it for the few minutes we were able to eat breakfast and watch, but he hasn’t wanted to watch it again. After taking him to daycare I started my work day. It was long and tiring. On my break I was able to finish up my Cousins Fantasy Football newsletter (I think this one was my best one yet!), and then I finished the work day off strong. Once I was done, I played with Mr. O and we watched Dancing With the Stars for a little bit with Lea. Then, I took Mr. O upstairs for bed time. For the first time ever, I rocked both of us to sleep! Lol. When I woke up and realized we were still in the chair, I put him in his crib, went to my bed and passed out at 8 PM. I felt more refreshed than usual when I woke up around 6AM on Wednesday.
Mr. O was up around the same time, so I got him up and ready for the day. It was the beginning of a really windy week here in the region. The wind was blowing hard and loud outside, and I could tell Mr. O was a little freaked out: “That sound, dada? That sound?”. I’m not sure if he was freaked out or just curious, but his tone made me think it was scaring him. Either way, he brushed it off after a few minutes and ignored it, lol. We watched and played with Trains until I had to go to work. The day went by quick since we had an early release for Thanksgiving. I’m very thankful we were able to get off early. It gave me extra time to play with my boy! Mr. O and I also “helped” Lea make peanut butter balls. It was her dessert contribution for Thanksgiving. When I say we “helped” her, I mean we sat at the counter and played with a bowl of water and a measuring cup while she made them all, lol. She didn’t want our help anyways, but Mr. O likes to be involved, so she gives him a bowl of water and a measuring cup so he can pour water back and forth while she is baking. To finish off the day, I walked for an hour on my treadmill. I had a good streak going this week!
Thursday was Thanksgiving and I had the day off from work. It was a great day overall. In the morning, our little family hung out and played until Mr. O went down for a nap. Then, I walked for an hour and played Madden, continuing my second season as the Chicago Bears head coach, Rusty Spoonz. We’re having a tremendous season thus far, and I think this could be the year we win the Super Bowl. However, at this time, I am uncertain whether or not I will re-sign with the team. We will see how I feel after we win the big game, but I have also been considering building up another struggling franchise and taking them to the Bowl. I’ll let you all know once I make my decision. When Mr. O woke up, it was time for all of us to get ready for Thanksgiving dinner. We were going to my aunts house and Mr. O had a blast. He’s randomly obsessed with one of my cousins and wanted to play with him all night, lol. They also had this old train set they put together for him and he played with that almost the entire time we were there.
It was a great Thanksgiving, the food was good, the company was better, and our boy had the best time! Eventually, it was time to get home. Mr. O has a strict bed time and I had to work on Friday, so we packed up our things (and lots of leftovers) and went home. Mr. O went to sleep pretty quickly. The little guy was exhausted from all the playing and all the attention he was getting (One of the only babies/toddlers in the family problems). To finish off the night, I walked for an hour again while Lea and I finished the series Friday Night Lights. What a great show! I really loved it even more this second time around. We had watched it probably a decade ago, but this re-watch was great. Just a really solid, great show. Highly recommend (it’s on Prime).
When I woke up on Friday I was exhausted. Thanksgiving wore me out, especially all the food. The work day was long and boring, but it got more interesting when I turned the Bears game on the radio to listen. They were playing the reigning Super Bowl champs, the Philadelphia Eagles, at 2 PM! 2PM! Who schedules a “black Friday” NFL game for 2 PM in the afternoon?! Anyway, at least I was able to listen to it. Oh, and the Bears WON! They beat one of the best teams in the league and moved their record to 9-3. What a game and what a fun team. I’m not going to say “The Bears are back!” just yet though, although they’re playing really well. I will only say it if they beat the Green Bay Packers at least once this season. If they do that, then I will declare them “back”. They play them next Sunday, so we will see what happens. next weeks Weekly Review will either be a joyful one or a sad one, lol.
After work we relaxed all night. We were all tired from the busy holiday. In the evening, I played Madden again and then turned on Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). It’s a fun game that I really enjoy every once in a while. I already played it all the way through once, so I haven’t been as interested in playing the story and doing the missions this time. My priority is just to roam and have fun and discover new things. When I feel like it, then I will do the missions! On Saturday morning we all slept in. It felt great. When I went to get Mr. O out of bed, I told him we were going to go downstairs and potty train all day. He said “No, Dada”. I told him, “Well, I make the rules around here” and he informed me that he, in fact, makes the rules: “No me make rules!” Anyway, we went downstairs and started potty training. Lea has been working with him on and off because he is still so young, but on this day we decided we were going to try to do it all day. Without going into gross details, I will just say Mr. O did so well! We’re very proud of him.
When he went down for his nap, I shoveled the driveway and then made myself lunch. Once he woke up, we put on the Polar Express, because, as you know, Mr. O loves trains, and it was a perfect mix of Christmas and trains for him to watch. For dinner, Lea and I made what we thought was a Jacks Pizza, but it turned out to be an off brand mixed in with the handful Lea picked up at the store earlier in the week. It was disgusting! Lol. There was zero chance she would have been able to tell it was a different brand unless she looked at each one she picked up. It was the same labeling but had a different name. I’ve never seen it before, but now we will be on the lookout to make sure we don’t get it again. After cuddling Mr. O before bed, Lea and I watched the first of The Maze Runner trilogy movie. It was good, fun, and exciting. Neither of us had seen it before and this is Lea’s pick, since I had picked Friday Night Lights.
When we woke up on Sunday, there was a ton of snow outside!

We went downstairs to eat breakfast, and then Mr. O helped me do the dishes. Then, we went upstairs and helped Lea do the laundry. Well, I helped. Mr. O laid in our bed drinking his milk, eating his food, and watching Bluey. Then, I went outside to shovel and salt the driveway. My back hurts so bad! When I finally finished, I came inside and made myself a bagel. Mr. O is currently down napping, and I am writing this while Lea and I watch the Colts game (her team). The rest of the day should (hopefully) be peaceful. It all depens how Mr. O wakes up! Lol.
I hope you all had a great holiday/week and continue to have a great week! Happy Monday!
Peter
