Weekly Review 60

Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

On Monday, Mr. O and I started last week of vacation for the year off watching Thomas & Friends. It was a good episode, if i’m remembering correctly. I believe Thomas was delivering something, but there was an issue, and then he ended up figuring it out. It was basically how every episode goes. When Mr. O was bored with that show, he started playing with his toys and I put on Pardon My Take to watch/listen to while I cleaned up the house a little bit. About an hour later, Lea was upstairs doing laundry and cleaning, so Mr. O and I went upstairs in our room. Soon enough, we all ended up laying in bed together watching the movie Ice Age, because Mr. O decided to really like it on this day, lol. When Mr. O went down for a nap, Lea cleaned out her closet, while I walked on the treadmill and read Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey. When I finished walking/reading, I went downstairs to work out. In the evening, Lea made a really great Greek chicken dinner. It was so juicy and delicious, I hope she makes it again soon! We finished the night off by watching Friday Night Lights.

On Tuesday morning, Lea took Mr. O to daycare. While she was out, I went to pick up my mom’s dog, Sparty, because he was staying at our house this week while she was out of town. When we came home, my phone was buzzing like crazy! It was my cousins fantatsy football league. There was tons of drama going on. One of our cousins, traded with another cousin, but the other cousin was already eliminated from the playoffs, so there’s this unwritten rule that you can’t trade with them because they have nothing to lose and you can’t just have someone giving away their best players to help someone elses playoff chances. Anyway, that went on for about an hour, maybe two, and as “league correspondent” (I write the newsletter every week), I had to really document everything that was said, lol.

Once I put my phone down, I turned on the TV and played with Sparty. We ran around the living room, ran around in the backyard, went for a walk, and then I checked the clock and realized the day got away from me. It was time to go pick up Mr. O from daycare! When I pulled up, he was riding a bike up and down the sidewalk. He saw me and I could hear him screaming (joyfully) for me, lol. When we came home, Lea was making dinner, and Sparty was right behind her hoping she would drop some food!

On Wednesday, me and Sparty went to get Mr. O up and ready for the day. Mr. O loved when Sparty would come into his room. I was changing him on the floor, and he was giggling like crazy when Sparty would lick his face, lol. We watched/listened to Pardon My Take again while we played. Mr. O threw Sparty’s ball around for him, chased him, cuddled him, and tried to play with him all morning, but Sparty eventually grew tired of it. So did Mr. O. Hours later, it was naptime. While he slept, I finished Greenlights. It was a good memoir and I enjoyed it very much. Obviously, there was so much I did not know about Matthew McConaughey, but I was definitely not expecting some of the experiences he shared! It was a very entertaining book and I recommend it. When Mr. O woke up, we all sat in the living room to play and watch Talkville, the Smallville re-watch podcast. When that was over, Mr. O and I went into my office to hang out. I made some changes to the layout, moved some books around, and vacuumed. It looks nice. I took the TV out of the room because I never used it, and now I have a nice reading corner in there. We finished the day by watching Cars 2, and then I had a meeting/call at 9 PM with some Orthodox friends. We try to meet every Wednesday. It was a good call.

On Thursday morning, Lea, Sparty and I were potty training Mr. O. I know, my boy is getting so big! He did well, and we played when we weren’t training. When he went down for a nap, I wrote in my journal for a little bit and relaxed. It’s always nice to get my thoughts out in a safe spot. In the evening, I went to pick up dinner and we all ate at the table (for once) as a family. It was really nice. Later that night, while we were all sleeping, Sparty kept barking and barking. I went downstairs to let him out and then put him back to sleep, but it didn’t matter. Bark, bark, bark! Then, Mr. O woke up. Ugh! It was so frustrating, but Mr. O was cute snuggling in our bed.

On Friday we were all hanging out around the house again. I worked on my newsletter and then took Sparty home. I love Sparty, but I could not wait to take him home, lol. I really don’t want a dog, but I know Mr. O will want one when he’s older. On my way back home, I swung by my grandmas to help her move some stuff to the curb, then came home and played Madden for a little bit. My mother-in-law also came into town for the weekend, and she helped Lea bake bread. In the evening, we all went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, or as Mr. O calls it, “Cowboy House”. On Saturday morning, me and Mr. O were up early. We played with Play-Doh (or however you spell it) and hung out while watching Barstool Sports College Gameday show. When he went to sleep, I walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes. It’s the longest I’ve ever walked on there, it felt great! Then, we all got ready to go take some family pictures! It was very cold, but it didn’t matter. We were having a lot of fun and I know the pictures will turn out great, as always. In the evening, my mother-in-law bought dinner for us, and I went to go pick it up. When I came back, we all ate together and continued watching Friday Night Lights. It was a lazy and cozy evening.

On Sunday we had planned to go to church, but plans change. When we woke up it was snowing like crazy, and none of us really felt great either. Thankfully, our health improved, as did the weather. The snow had stopped (for now) and Lea’s mom was able to leave while there was a break outside. After she left, our little family decided to decorate for Christmas:

It was fun! We played some Christmas music, had some football on the TV, and got in the holiday spirit. As I write this, I am watching the Bears play the Giants. It is now, at this moment, 7-7. Giants just scored while I was mid-sentence, lol. I hope the Bears can pull out this win. a 6-3 record would be awesome for this team.

Well, this was my week in review. It was a good one and I enjoyed spending all the time with my family. I hope you all had a great week, and continue that into this new week!

Peter
