Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

Monday morning was a tiring one. Chasing Mr. O around the wedding reception the night before took it’s toll on us. We knew it would, but we did not expect to feel hungover, even though we didn’t drink any alcohol! It was such a strange feeling when I woke up. I knew I didn’t drink, but I still felt some of the same things I used to feel back when I would drink. I don’t know why we were feeling that way, but we pushed through and carried on with our day. Mr. O was up and ready to go at seven in the morning. He slept in a little bit, thankfully, and we went downstairs to have some TV-time before I went to work. In the evening, Lea made a new recipe. It was a crockpot Ziti meal, and it turned out pretty well! After dinner, Mr. O and I were playing. We had a little accident this time due to miscommunication. He wanted to wrestle, I wasn’t paying attention as I was sitting in front of him, and he charged at me trying to tackle me. He’s strong, but not strong enough to knock me down when I’m not paying attention, lol. We immediately bumped heads and both fell to the ground. He cried for a minute and then we hugged it out. We also both had little bumps on our foreheads for about a day. Later that night, I rocked him to sleep and he fell asleep in my arms for the first time in a long time. It was the sweetest thing. When I came back downstairs, I finished up my Halloween post! I really think my readers will enjoy some local lore.

On Tuesday morning I barely made it to the train on time. I was heading into Chicago to make my monthly appearance in the office. It was nice being there and seeing everyone. It always is. The day seemed to drag on. Maybe it was because I had more meetings than usual, or maybe it was because I was in a different environment than I’m used to. Either way, it took forever. When I arrived home, I walked in to the declicious smell of tacos. Lea had dinner just about done by the time I walked through the door. After we ate, I played with Mr. O a bit. I felt bad that I barely got to see him, so I wanted to spend as much time with him as I could. As we were playing, Lea was watching Dancing With the Stars. Mr. O paused playtime to watch for a little bit. He likes the dancing, lol.

When Wednesday morning barely came around, Mr. O was up. It was 12:30 AM and he was calling for me. He must have had a bad dream again. I’m not sure what’s going on in that cute little head of his. I brought him into our room to sleep and we dozed off together quicker than I thought. Before I knew it, 6 AM was here and my alarm was blaring that nasty iPhone alarm sound. I can’t stand it, but that’s why it’s a good sound to use to get up, lol. Once we all got ready for the day, Lea took Mr. O to my mom’s before work, and I was in my office preparing myself for the long day ahead. When my work was finally finished, I shut off my laptop and walked out to our living room, where Mr. O was ecstatic to see me. I love when he get’s like that. About an hour later, Lea had somewhere to be, so it was just me and my boy all night. I made us dinner, we played, and we ended the night relaxing while watching some of his shows. It’s a great way to wind him down before bedtime.

I’m sorry to say, but I didn’t take very good notes on Thursday. Not much happened, but in the evening we ate dinner, played with Mr. O, and watched the latest episode of Peacemaker season 2. It was really good! I’m excited to see where this season takes the DCU as a whole. When Friday evening came upon us, we continued our usual nightly routine. We ate dinner, played with his toys, and watched his shows to calm him down before bed. However, on this night I found real videos of digger trucks on YouTube, and he loved it so much! It was so cute. He was taking his toy digger truck and dump truck, and copying exactly what they were doing on the TV, lol. Then, he got bored of it and asked me to put on “Halloween pumpkin”. I had no clue what this meant so I just typed in “halloween pumpkin for toddlers” and some videos came up that he enjoyed. After a few minutes, we went upstairs, he took a bath, and went to sleep. I laid down too, I was exhausted.

On Saturday morning, I played with Mr. O while Lea prepared some things for her girls night she was hosting at our house. A few hours later I cut the grass, and then when Mr. O woke up, we all went to Spirit Halloween to find him a costume for this years holiday. We instantly regretted it. Right when we walked in there were giant skeletons screaming and moving back and forth. Mr. O was not having it. Poor guy was so freaked out. Eventually, he picked out a costume. It took forever because he was so focused on the skeletons, but he decided to be Lightning McQueen, from the movie Cars. When we hauled butt out of the store, Lea went to pick something up from a store called Michaels, while Mr. O and I wandered around Best Buy for about thirty minutes. It was fun! He likes walking and looking at different things. The big TV’s there interested him too. In the evening Lea’s friends came over, so Mr. O and I stayed upstairs to play and watch The Lion King until it was time for bed.

Around two in the morning on Sunday, Mr. O was awake and he was terrified. Those dang skeletons! I brought him into bed with me and we snuggled the rest of the night. Lea was in our guest room, because her friends didn’t leave until 1 AM, lol. When my alarm went off at six, Mr. O was still knocked out, so I snuck out of bed, took a shower, swept the kitchen, ate breakfast, and brushed my teeth, all before this kid woke up! When he finally woke up, we both changed and left for church. He’s been asking to go all week, so we picked up my grandma and went. He had a good time. He is a celebrity at our church. Everyone knows him, loves him, and wants to talk to him, lol. It was also nice on a personal level for me to be back. It’s been a while, and I don’t want to keep making excuses for why we don’t go, so I’m going to try to continue to take Mr. O every Sunday.

Later in the afternoon, the Bears were playing the Las Vegas Raiders. Surprisingly, the Bears won! Mr. O and I were so happy. Lea rolled her eyes watching him copy everything I was saying, as well as my mannerisms, lol. He’s so cute. Maybe there is hope for him as a Bears fan?!

It was a great week!

Peter
