Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

My Monday started at 3:30 AM, when Mr. O woke up screaming. I’m not sure what’s been frightening him lately (maybe the dark?), but he’s been having trouble going to sleep more often, and it’s tiring! I will say, we do love getting some extra time to rock with him in his chair and cherish the extra snuggles. It’s strange, though, because some days he will be fine and he will fall asleep right away. Other’s, he will scream and scream until he eventually falls asleep, and on this early Monday morning, he woke up at 3:30 terrified. We never know when it’s going to happen, lol.
Being home-based at work has it’s benefits, like waking up in the middle of the night to put your baby back to sleep, but on this night, it could not have been worse timing! I think Mr. O knew this and was messing with me, but I can’t prove it. After he went back to sleep, I was able to get 30 more minutes in before my alarm went off. I was going into the office (in Chicago) and I had to wake up a little bit earlier than normal.
As tired as I was, I still made it to the train on time. I was able to catch the right one (this time) and made it to my office with some time to spare. When I arrived at the desk I reserved, I noticed something was off about it. It didn’t take long to notice I did not have a chair! So, I went snooping around the extra offices on the floor and eventually found one to use. I must have looked so weird peeking in random rooms, lol. As the day went on, my battery was running low. That middle of the night hang out with Mr. O was finally hitting me. Once the end of the day arrived, I still had work to finish up before leaving, so I stayed later than normal to finish up, and had to catch a later train. I usually don’t do that, ever, but I really didn’t want to work again when I got home!
On Tuesday Mr. O went to daycare and had a blast. We enjoy the messages and pictures we recieve throughout the day, showing up what he’s been up to. He’s so funny, and apparently such a good boy over there. We’re proud of him. He’s a good boy at home too, but we weren’t sure how he was going to be at daycare, which is why we were nervous at first. He loves it, though! The workday went by quickly, and before I knew it we were all together again. The rest of the night was pretty normal. We ate dinner, played, and did some chores around the house.
On Wednesday morning, Lea took Mr. O to my mom’s house. While I was at home (waiting for my laptop to start up) I saw a great surprise on X/Twitter from DC Studios’ James Gunn. It was a “first look” poster for the new Supergirl movie, which is premiering summer of 2026! I’ll be writing/posting about this and a few DC updates later this week, so keep an eye out!
Throughout the day work was busy, and we had a quick severe storm come through the region, but it didn’t last long thankfully. Once it was finished with our area, I pulled the grill out and made some burgers. This time I wanted to try something new with a couple of them, so I put different cheese on the one’s I was eating. I had bought some Colby cheese recently, and then some Swiss, so I threw those on and they tasted really good. I don’t experiment much with my food. If I like something I always leave it the way it is. I know it doesn’t sound like I really “tried something new” but for me it was!
On Thursday, around midday, a group of young kids came knocking on my door. If I had to guess I’d say they were in early high school. They are making some money this summer powerwashing garbage cans for people in the area. I told them to come back Monday (after trash day) and they agreed. So they will be back today to clean my garbage cans and I am actually excited about it because now I don’t have to do it, lol. Also, I will always support young kids trying to make some extra money in the neighborhood. Good for them!
Friday was one of the busiest days I’ve had at work this year. I don’t think I took a lunch break, to be honest. It was non-stop all day and my brain hurt so bad once it was over. On Firday night I went to see Superman (yes…again!) with my mom and my aunt. It was just as good, if not better, than the first two times! We had fun and they said they enjoyed it, so that’s nice. It’s such a fun movie and I love it so much.
On Saturday morning Mr. O and I played with his cars. It was a mix between Hot Wheels and his “digger trucks”, as he likes to call them. I am only allowed to push the cars back and forth, while he makes the engine noises and moves them around everywhere else. Basically, I just have to be sitting next to him. When Lea came downstairs, we started The Summer I Turned Pretty over from the beginning so we have a refreshed memory of what happened before we start the final season. Mr. O enjoys our shows, but doesn’t pay much attention thankfully. He plays most of the time. When Mr. O went down for a nap, I was able to get a great work out in, and then I quickly cleaned myself up and went to True Value for a bag of screws.
We’re putting together one of our old tables we had stored in the basement and I could not remember where I put the screws when we took it apart last. It was easier just to go in and have an employee show me which one’s I needed, lol. I’m not a “handy” guy when it comes to tools, building, etc. Wish I was sometimes, but it’s just not me. Later in the evening, our family went to another Greek Church’s “Greek fest” for dinner. It was nice hanging out with people there and chasing Mr. O around. He loves places like that.
After Mr. O woke up on Sunday, we played, ate, and watched Cars, until it was time for us to get dressed for church. It was pouring rain, so of course I was soaking wet after putting him in his car seat. I had an umbrella sitting over us, it was on the door and the roof of the car, but Mr. O kept hitting it on accident when I was putting him in the carseat and it kept moving, lol. Admittedly, I was very frustrated (and wet), and I even considered just calling it all off and taking us back inside. After calming down a bit, I drove us to church. I’m glad I did, but we didn’t stay that long. Mr. O was antsy and wanted to go run around and I could tell he was about to start throwing one of his fits. So I packed up our things and we left early. I feel bad about it. I should have just stayed, but I was tired, hungry, and irritated so I knew it was time to go. Next time, though, we aren’t going to leave. It’s good for him to be there. I need to start taking him more.
When we came home, he went down for a nap, and I watched Smallville while Lea and I made a grocery list. She went to the store, came back, and we hung out for a little bit until our boss woke up. The rest of the day was spent playing, watching TV occasionally, and eating. It was a nice, rainy day (when we were dry and inside) and I couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing evening.
