Weekly Review 30

Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

It started on Monday when Mr. O and I sat on the couch, just hanging out watching Thomas & Friends. The workday flew by, and before I knew it, I was off the clock. It was just me and the little man on Monday night, so I made him dinner, and we practiced our ABCs. Then, after he went to bed, I continued this content writing course I’ve been working on. It’s through Udemy, and I’m enjoying it so far. I’ve wanted to learn more about writing content for a while, and I stumbled across this course, so I thought, “Why not?” and purchased it. After all, not every one of my posts on here is a personal post, so why not learn how to write them better, right?

After I wrapped my course up for the night, I made myself dinner and watched an episode of Smallville. On Tuesday morning, we played in Mr. O’s playroom for a little bit, and then I had to start working. Thankfully, my commute wasn’t too bad! The workday was easy. As I said in last week’s review, it’s been slow, so I have had a lot of downtime to do my training and development goals that I had set for myself earlier this year. On Tuesday, however, I was assigned to a project, so that was fun. I enjoy doing projects at work. I don’t know why, but I feel more accomplished doing those than I do when I finish my actual work, lol. On Tuesday night, I made dinner, and it did not turn out well! I promise I made the chicken just like I do every single time, but it must have been the type I bought from the store. For some reason, it was chewy, but I know it was cooked all the way! After we threw it away, we ate random snacks we had around the house, lol. Mr. O had his own sandwich I made him before dinner, so he was full and didn’t want what I made.

Once dinner was over, we gave the little guy a bath and put him to bed. The rest of the night was quiet. On Wednesday morning, Mr. O and I played with his trains again before work. Once we came downstairs, I put on one of his shows so I could do the dishes quickly, and before I knew it, I had to lock myself away in my office to work. I hate doing that, but it needs to be done. On Wednesday evening, it was just us again. I made us dinner, and we played some more. This time, we danced to his little record player, “swam” in his ball pit (meaning pretending to dive in and swim around), and blew bubbles. Once it was closer to bedtime, I put on this movie called Dinosaurs on Disney Plus so we could start settling down and relaxing. I think it was a mistake because this movie was traumatic. Has anyone else ever seen it? I had to turn it off after we watched all these meteors destroy half of the earth and all the animals on whatever island they were on.

I changed it to an episode of Danny Go, and then we called in a night, lol. Before bed, I had enough energy to get a good workout in, and I’m really happy about that. Thursday was another low-volume day at work. It was so boring. No project this time, and I had already finished most of my training and development goals. So, I finished what I had left of my goals and then watched some training videos. After work, I was super excited because, on my way to my haircut, I stopped at one of the oldest homes in northwest Indiana! It was such a cool, quick experience, and I cannot wait for you to read all about it on Wednesday. It is part of my Exploring the Region series, and it’s the first historical site in the region that I’ve written about. I worked hard on it, and I hope you enjoy it. Remember, WEDNESDAY! Be on the lookout, lol.

On Friday, Mr. O picked up a new word: Don’t. When I tried to pick him up out of his crib, he said, “Don’t!”. So, I left him there for a few minutes until he was ready. Then, we were lucky enough to hear it for the rest of the weekend as well! Once he finally let me grab him, we played on my bed and then in his playroom. After work, I went to pick up dinner. It was an easy day and night. Just how we like them.

On Saturday, Mr. O slept in, and I was able to knock out a big chunk of Exploring the Region post. I had so much fun writing this, you guys. I truly hope you read and enjoy it. Anyway, later in the morning, Mr. O had another soccer practice. Once again, he did not want to participate, which is fine. I will admit I was a little frustrated this time, but I reminded myself, “He is barely two years old.” Also, I want to let him be himself. I don’t want to force a sport on him, so I walked around with him as he examined every little rock we walked on. After soccer, we went to breakfast at Cedar Lake Kitchen. Mr. O had a blast and enjoyed the food. When we came home, it was time for our little prince to go to sleep. While he did that, I finished my Exploring the Region post.

When he woke up, we played with his trains and ball pit again. Then, since it was really warm out, we played in the backyard! It was so much fun. Lea and her mom put together his little jungle gym, and I kept him busy with his new T-ball toy on the other side of the yard. It was a great way to end the day. I love Indiana when it’s warm out and the sun is setting in the evening. Everything just feels right.

Sunday was Palm Sunday, so we went to church. When I tell you Mr. O is a celebrity at this place, I am not exaggerating. Everyone wants to say hi to him and to talk to him. Naturally, he just runs past, yelling, “No!” lol. After church, I went grocery shopping (which was a nice little break) and then turned on the White Sox game when I came home. The rest of the evening was spent playing and relaxing. It was another great week and I hope you had one as well.

Thanks for reading!
