Legendary Superman actor, Gene Hackman, alongside his wife and dog, found dead inside home.

Sad news this morning, as many outlets are reporting Gene Hackman, who played Lex Luthor in Superman (1978), was found dead, alongside his wife Betsy and their dog (nypost.com).

“Santa Fe County police discovered the body of the two-time Oscar winner, 95, and 63-year-old classical pianist Betsy Arakawa—his wife of 34 years on Wednesday afternoon” the New York Post writes. There is great information about his life and his work throughout this article, if interested I suggest you read it. It is impressive.

“Their cause of death has not been confirmed but it is not believed to be foul play, Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Denise Womack-Avila told CNN Thursday morning (CNN.com).”

Santa Fe deputies responded to a request for a welfare check at Hackman’s home on Wednesday afternoon and found the actor, his wife and their dog deceased, per CNN. “An investigation is ongoing, police said.”

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, Adan Mendoza, the Santa Fe Country Sheriff, “confirmed just after midnight Thursday the couple had died, along with their dog.” Sheriff Mendoza did not provide a cause of death or say when the couple might have died, per the Santa Fe New Mexican.

Very sad news from multiple outlets, as I said above. Without getting ahead of the story or being disrespectful I just want to say, yes I know it sounds strange that the couple and their dog had all passed, apparently around the same time. However, as stated above, there were no indications of foul play, so we will have to let the investigation play out. Give a story around four-to-five days for all the facts to come out. Sometimes it takes longer (I don’t like that but it’s just how it is).

May Mr. Hackman, his wife Betsy and their dog all rest in peace.

Peter
