Weekly Review 21

Hello readers! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

As I write this Lea and I are watching the Super Bowl. The Chiefs are getting smoked at the beginning of the second half, but we will pick up on that later! For now, we are going to start on Monday. It was a good day overall. Work was, well, work. But after work is when the fun started. Me and Mr. O were dancing and singing to Ms. Rachel, as well as his birthday playlist that we made for his party. It’s so funny watching him dance. Poor guy only has us to imitate lol.

Once we were tired of dancing, Lea made Manwich for dinner, we turned on This Is US and we spent the night hanging out with the little guy. After he went to bed I listened to my audio book of Fourth Wing. I’m almost done! Then I can start the second book of the series. If you don’t remember, Lea and I are swapping books. I read one of her suggestions and she reads one of my comic suggestions. Currently, she is reading Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. She says she likes it but I’m not sure I believe her. I think she’s just being nice about it because we made a deal and she wants me to keep listening to her books lol.

On Tuesday I tried. I really did. I tried to get up early to work out before Mr. O woke up and before work started. It didn’t happen. I turned my alarm off and rolled over to my other side. I need to stop trying to get up so early is what I said to myself as I tried to fall back asleep. Hey, at least I tried! In the evening it was basically a repeat of Monday. Eat, play, bed lol. The life of a parent!

Now Wednesday was more eventful. Wednesday was presentation day at work. Honestly, I wasn’t really nervous. It was online and no one had their cameras on so it was fairly easy. I had to put together a 10-15 minute presentation and it was mainly just reading exactly what I wrote down. The part I was most nervous about was getting all the information together. Presenting was the easy part compared to that. Before I knew it, my part was over! I spoke for a solid eleven minutes. It flew by. The rest of the day was a breeze. Like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

After my presentation I took my lunch break. I had to run to the store to grab some salt for my driveway. I’m glad I did because it got so icy outside later that night! When I came home I still had some time left on my lunch break, so I decided to make another cheese omelet. I’m proud to announce I finally got the omelet flip down. I flipped it so perfectly. It felt amazing! After I ate I went back to work and the rest of the day flew by. On Wednesday night I played with mini me, watched an episode of Frank Walks, gave Mr. O a batch, put him to bed and did a little blogging (which you can find here: https://theregionlife.com/2025/02/06/what-happened-on-mars/ ).

On Thursday, for some reason, I tried to wake up early again. In my notes it just says “FAIL”. In the afternoon I was scrolling randomly on my podcasts app. I was going through old Art Bell Coast to Coast episodes to listen to and I wasn’t really looking. There’s so many so sometimes I scroll without looking, and I’ll count “one, two, three” etc. and I’ll stop on five or ten. This time I stopped on ten and the one I landed on had me go “woah” lol. It was an episode from 1996 about possible life on Mars! What are the chances of that? The night before I wrote that post (linked above) about life on Mars and then the next day I randomly select an episode from 1996 about life on Mars? As Jim Harold says, “It’s too much of a coincident to be a coincidence!”. It was an interesting episode. I didn’t finish it though because the guest was kind of annoying me. Every time Art asked him a question he responded right away with “well, I’m not an expert on that” or “I’m not sure”. How thrilling…

After work I put on an episode of Smallville and we did our normal, nightly routine. I listened to my book and fell asleep.

On Friday (also known as Friyay) I worked, played with the little guy, watched a choo-choo video and wrote another post. This time it was about the bulls: https://theregionlife.com/2025/02/08/bulls-update-why-the-bulls-wont-be-good-any-time-soon/

On Saturday Mr. O woke me up at 6:30 in the morning. He’s so funny. When he wakes up the first thing he does is sit up and say “Hewo?” lol. It’s like he’s trying to see if anyone else is awake. So I went and ate breakfast for a few minutes then went and got him ready for the day. We came downstairs and watched Minions again. This time I left a review on Letterboxd lol. “Minions is an instant classic. Kevin, Bob, and Stuart are such like-able characters and truly grow throughout the movie.

This movie is very insightful into the lives of the minions. We see their trials, their triumphs, and their ability to make any activity fun. Before this, all we knew about them is what we learned in Despicable Me. Kevin is kind of made out to be the handsome and cool main minion in the movie, but Bob steals the show. His performance is first-rate. Although they make him out to be baby-like, Bob has the most fun and is very clever. Over all great movie.” I rated it five stars.

After the movie I went into the garage and brought in Mr. O’s slide. He calls it his “WEEEEEE” because that’s what he says when he slides down it lol. Lea and I cleaned it off pretty well. Killed a couple spiders, dirtied a few rags. He played with it all day. In fact, he’s played with it all weekend lol. When he napped I worked out and Lea and I watched The Sopranos.

When he woke up, we put on The Eras Tour for some background noise while we played with the slide some more. Lea made Chili and we hung out the rest of the night. It was great.

On Sunday we woke up and went to church. Mr. O loved it once again. There was this baby boy in the pew behind us and Mr. O turned around and extended his fist to him to give him knucks lol. Then he yelled at the baby because he tried to grab Lea’s hair. Mr. O said “NO!”. He protects his “Ma” lol. Of course, we bought him another Hot Wheel car from the church shop afterwards. When we came home we turned on the Puppy Bowl because there was supposed to be a clip of the Superman movie played. I thought it was going to be a new clip but it ended up being the same trailer we got a few months ago. I was disappointed but oh well. Still excited!

Now, back to the Super Bowl. Currently, the score is 34-0. Wait, the Chiefs just scored. It’s the fourth quarter and they JUST scored lol. It is now 34-6. They tried to go for two just now and missed. Lea is drawing on her iPad and I am writing this. It’s been another great week and it’s great to end this one with the Super Bowl.

I hope you all had a great week as well!
