Hello everyone. Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.
It was kind of a slow one. It wasn’t a good either, but I won’t get too much into that. My anxiety was at an all-time-high all week (and still kind of is today. I’ve been a little hard on myself). I made a mistake at work and that is very rare for me and it’s just tearing me apart in my head. But we live and we learn right? I’ll get over it eventually. Anyways….
On Monday I woke up so grateful. I don’t remember what I dreamt about but I know when I woke up and went downstairs to work out I couldn’t stop thinking about how blessed I am to have Lea and Mr. O. It must have been a good dream lol. I love our little family so much! Another thing that was stuck in my head when I woke up was the song Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls. Don’t ask, I don’t have an answer for you. I don’t know why. However, since it was stuck in my head I had to play it a few times to get it out of my system lol.
One of the versions of it that played was a live version and it was really cool. I wonder what it’s like to write something so meaningful to people that a crowd of thousands will sing your song back to you. It must be an amazing feeling. After my workout was finished I went upstairs to get ready for work and before I knew it Mr. O was awake blabbering in his crib. I love his little language lol it’s so cute.
I made my way over to his room and got him dressed for the day and we went downstairs. I made him some pancakes and cut up a banana (his favorite meal). We watched Ms. Rachel and the rest of the day was great.
I don’t have much to say about Tuesday. This is when my rough week started. Not good! On Wednesday night we did our usual routine: made dinner, played with Mr. O and then when he went to sleep Lea and I caught up on Surviving Barstool. It was a quiet night. It was just what I needed because the thoughts in my head were going all over the place. Thursday was kind of the same deal – anxiety, playing with the little guy and watching the Surviving Barstool finale. What a great show, I must say. It was really entertaining and we looked forward to it every week. Lea really enjoyed it too and she isn’t in to the Barstool Sports world at all.
Friday was a little better for me at work, and Friday night was even more fun! As soon as I got off work and walked into our living room Mr. O was ready to play. We played with his choo-choo’s, his cars, Woody, Buzz, Superman, Batman, you name it lol. Once dinner was made I put on Space Jam (from the 90’s. The only one I will recognize). It was Mr. O’s first time watching it and his eyes were glued to the Tv the entire time. Lots of “cool” and “whas that?”. There were also some gasps that came out of his cute little mouth too. When the movie finished all he wanted to do was play basketball on his Little Tikes hoop. It was honestly the cutest thing ever. So that’s what we did until he went to bed. We played basketball! Later on Lea and I binged the Sopranos again. Gosh I love that show.
On Saturday I busted out our new vacuum. This thing is incredible! As I was using it, Mr. O was behind me with his little vacuum lol it was adorable. He was helping me clean. Once we finished vacuuming we mopped the floor so it was nice and shiny. Lea and I were having friends over in the afternoon so we wanted to make the place look a little nice lol. Usually, our countertop is covered with mail and all of Mr. O’s things that we take away from him because he tries to eat them. Then on the floor are all of his toys. Everywhere. All over. So it was nice to have a clean living room for once! When our friends came over they recommended we put on the 90’s show Zoboomafoo. Surprisingly, all the episodes appear to be on YouTube. Mr. O LOVED it. He loved seeing all the animals and the guys being goofy with them.
On Saturday evening Lea, Mr. O and I went to dinner with our family for my grandmas 82nd birthday. We celebrated it a few days early, it’s really today, but it was more convenient to round everybody up and get us all in the same place lol. It was really nice and I think she enjoyed it very much. On Sunday it was FREEZING in the region. I think the high was thirteen degrees. Yikes! Around 9:30 in the morning I left home to go pick up some cat food. On the way I finally made some progress on Lea’s book recommendation Fourth Wing. I’m interested to see where this story goes. On my way home I stopped at the grocery store to pick up some food for the week, then came home and worked out. I’m proud of myself. I’ve been exercising two-to-three times a week lately. It may not be on the days I wanted, but either way I get it done.
On Sunday night we went to our niece’s baptism. It was beautiful and, as always, it was fun hanging out with our family. So, that’s my weekly review. It was kind of a boring, short one but hey, that’s life right? It can’t always be interesting. How was your week? I hope it went well!
Peter
