Weekly Review 12

Hello readers. Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

Once again (for the purposes of this series) my week started on Monday. It was not a fun Monday! The main reason was because it was fifteen degrees outside. The wind and the cold mixed together smacked me in the face and it felt like my cheeks were getting slashed from every direction as I walked through Chicago, desperately trying to get to my office.

I had finally arrived and my work day was able to begin…in the warmth! On Tuesday morning we experienced what every parent dreads every time it turns from fall to winter. Mr. O woke up with a little cold! Poor baby. Thankfully it only lasted a day, so we think he is actually teething because his symptoms mostly went away, and now he is just experiencing a runny nose and he gets those a lot when he has new teeth coming in. He wasn’t too hard on Lea that day since he wasn’t feeling well. He just wanted to cuddle his momma and watch TV all day. Sometimes he would try to play but he had almost no energy.

While they were out there relaxing, I was in my home office working. It was a busy day so I didn’t have time to listen to anything. Although, later Tuesday evening I listened to an interview Michael Knowles (from The Daily Wire) did with a man named Blake Healy. Mr. Healy says since he was a boy he’s been able to see Angels and demons. It was a very interesting conversation. If you’re interested you can find that HERE. After I finished that Lea and I watched the series finale of Superman and Lois. As I said in a recent post (which you can find HERE), it was a phenomenal show. A great portrayal of Superman and Lois Lane. It is now one of my favorite Superman shows!

On Wednesday I came home to a pitch black neighborhood. My mom was watching Mr. O and the power went out in northern Indiana for about twenty thousand people (I think). The wind and storms were so bad. Thankfully our house didn’t get too cold and Mr. O was able to sleep peacefully until the power came back on around ten-thirty. I’m thankful it did because I would have had to take a freezing cold shower before going to work lol. On Thursday I returned to the office in Chicago one last time. It was my last day before I start working remotely. Honestly, I wasn’t sad at all lol. I’ll be going back every once in a while for meetings and other things so it was like “eh, whatever.”

It was nice though because a few of my co-workers and I went and grabbed lunch together, and one was even so kind to pay for mine. It was fun and I enjoyed spending time with them. Also on Thursday….the DCU LAUNCHED THEIR FIRST TV SERIES!!! I’m sure some of you saw my post from Saturday (?) about Creature Commandos and the new DC official podcast. If not, you can find that HERE

On Friday I had one of my last vacation days of the year. It was nice. I did some cleaning, spent some time with my family and got some writing done (which I mentioned above). It was also my first time going to this new gym we joined. I’m happy I went even though I had every obstacle in my way lol. First, it was really cold outside. Second, I was stuck behind a school bus in my neighborhood. Lastly, I had to stop for gas! Although I had much in my way, I persevered and made it to the gym. My notes from that night (for this post) say “I hate this place.” I really do. I will not be going back. There’s too many people. It takes forever to get to a machine I need and I feel rushed on the machine I am currently using because I need to make sure I get to the next one. Needless to say I didn’t get my full work out in. I don’t have all the time in the world to wait for some high schooler to get off his phone and finish his sets.

That’s another thing! Too many kids. Coughing everywhere, being loud and obnoxious. Meh. And to top it off I could not figure out their dumb lockers. I locked myself out and had to get someone from the staff to help me get my stuff before I left all annoyed lol. I realize I sound very old but I’m not! I’m only 30! I just like to have a quick workout and I don’t like to wait. It’s time I put together a home gym.

On Saturday I was not feeling too hot. Apart from being sore from my unfinished workout Friday, my throat was scratchy and I was very congested. Those darn kids…I tried to nap the first half of the day but I couldn’t fall asleep. That’s how I know I wasn’t actually becoming sick, so I was thankful for that. I was able to rest in bed for a few hours though so that was nice. On Saturday night me, Lea, Mr. O, my mom and my aunt went to dinner at this restaurant called Teibles. It’s a pretty nice place and they have great Christmas decorations. Mr. O was OBSESSED with the trains they had going in loops. We couldn’t get him away from them.

On Sunday it was a really chill day. None of us were feeling too great. The Bears were getting blown out before halftime so I turned it off. And then we put Mr. O to bed and did our own things (Lea was coloring and watching TV while I was writing this! You’re welcome!).

So, that was my week in review. I hope you all had great weeks as well!

Peter
