Weekly Review 3

Hello! Welcome to my weekly review, where I share my previous week with you.

It started on Monday (again) and I was heading into downtown Chicago for work. Not much happened that day, but Monday night was fun for me. Episode two of DC’s The Penguin premiered on Max and I still can’t get over how good of a show it is. It’s like The Sopranos in a strange way. Obviously not as good since The Sopranos is one of the greatest shows of all-time, but it’s still good. The Penguin is like Tony Soprano on steroids. With Tony viewers could feel a little sympathetic and could potentially see some good in him. With the Penguin there is no good in him. No sympathy. It’s just a great show.

On Tuesday I watched the Vice-Presidential debate. It was okay. It was just a normal debate, and not many people pay attention to it, but I enjoy J.D. Vance so I wanted to watch. I don’t hate Tim Walz, by the way, but I definitely do not agree with him on most things. I don’t know why I felt the need to say that, but in todays political climate I feel like if you say you like someone on one side people conclude you hate the person on the other. Anyway, that’s not true. Above all, I appreciated the civility of the debate. They were mostly kind to each other and agreed on most things more than I thought they would. They just had different views on how to resolve the issues they agreed on.

On Wednesday Lea went out with some friends after work. So it was just me and my boy that night. I picked him up from my moms on my way home from work and we hung out and played when we got home. Unfortunately, on the days I am downtown and have to pick him up, we only have about an hour/hour and a half before his bedtime, so it makes it hard to play because I don’t want to get him all riled up lol. He was super tired though. I gave him a bath and put him to bed a little early. To my surprise, he was knocked out within minutes lol. It was nice though because I was able to make myself dinner and do some chores around the house while I watched the Mets game.

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned but since the White Sox had no shot of making the playoffs I am a New York Mets fan for this post season only and I am only cheering for them because of Barstool Sports’ Frank the Tank Fleming. He’s a huge Mets fan and they’ve been playing really well so far, so I figured why not? Why not just cheer for them during the playoffs lol. It’s been fun and the games have been exciting. Turns out baseball is really fun to watch when the teams are good.

On Thursday I was in Chicago again. Yes, it does get tiring, but I’m not here to complain about my commute again. That night was good though. When Mr. O and I returned home Lea was making “breakfast for dinner”. We had eggs, sausage patties and waffles (Leggo my Eggo!). It was delicious!

When Friday came about I was relieved. It was a long week. I’ve been training someone at work and I forgot how exhausting it can be. Then, after just two days of training, this person was pulled for something else so I had to take over what I was training them on. It wasn’t too big of a deal but it’s a tiring process. Anyway, we got off an hour early on Friday (again) and I really appreciate it when management does that. Lea and Mr. O went down south for my father-in-laws birthday so I had the night (and half of Saturday) to myself. It was relaxing. I was able to cut the grass, make some progress on my Baldurs Gate 3 playthrough, and binge watch a couple shows (Gilmore Girls and the WWE documentary Mr. McMahon). Lea put dinner in the crock pot for me before she left (love you Lea!) so all I had to do was make mashed potatoes whenever I wanted to eat. It was a very good and chill night. Obviously, I missed my family but it’s nice to have a night to myself every once in a while.

On Saturday I woke up later than normal. It’s always good to sleep in an hour or two. I went to the gym and got some shots up on the basketball court, then did a full body workout. It felt really good! I’m trying to ease my way back into exercising so I’ve been going once a week and occasionally get a home workout in. One thing I’ve noticed at the gym that baffles me is the older generation of men. It’s not the fact that they workout that puzzles me, it’s what they wear. Hey, I am not judging, I just do not understand how anyone can workout in khaki shorts and collared polo shirt. How is that comfortable?! I will say they do look nice though (and no, I am not making fun of them. I really just don’t understand).

When I got home I warmed up some leftovers for lunch and binged MLB playoffs all day until Lea and Mr. O got home. It was a nice day and I was excited to see my family again after being hours apart.

I do have a DC post I want to write. I have a lot of information I want to share with my readers, but I am waiting on one casting decision to be made. It should be made this week (hopefully). I just know that if I write that blog and post it, then the casting will be announced the next day lol. So I am trying to wait it out, but be on the lookout because that post is coming!

On Sunday Mr. O and I woke up and went to church. It was nice. We haven’t been going as often as we would like because it messes with his sleep schedule, but this kid slept until, like, 8:30am today lol so he wouldn’t be napping until we got home. Thankfully, we were able to make it there before it ended. He looked so cute in his khaki pants and blue polo shirt tucked in. He was able to see his yiayia (my mom) and his great yiayia (my grandma). He loves seeing them lol.

When we got home it was time to turn on the Bears game and OH MY GOD THEY PLAYED SO WELL! I think they won 37-10? Feel free to fact check me on that, but they won by a lot. Caleb Williams played fantastic. It finally feels like they are clicking and I am so excited for the rest of the season. Next Sunday they play in the UK in London, so their game will start at 8:30am Central time here in Northwest Indiana. Hopefully its another great game!

Currently, Lea is laying on the couch reading with Winston the Cat, Mr. O is asleep taking a nap, and I am sitting in my recliner, wearing my Jim Harold’s Campfire crewneck sweatshirt that says “Stay Spooky”, in orange letters that really stick out on the black background, while I watch the Mets playoff game. It turned out to be another great week in the region. I hope yours was great as well!

Peter

P.S. without going into the details, our family would appreciate your prayers this week! Thank you!!!
