The other day I caught myself thinking about something that crosses my mind a lot these days: “Is this it? There has to be more to life than being away from your family 8+ hours a day. There has to be more to life than just working, eating, sleeping and praying your two weeks of vacation comes fast enough. There has to be more than this.”
I don’t know what kind of answer I’m looking for. I know we have to work in order to have money and feed our family. I know it helps us provide our kids with a better life. Sometimes it just feels so mundane and I can’t help but wonder if this is really what we were all put on this earth to do. I mean, is our purpose really to sit in cubicles and be away from our loved ones every day of the week? My guess is no, that is not our purpose.
Obviously we can’t just change how society is and how the world operates, so I will keep going to work I guess. It just stinks being away from Lea and baby O so much. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have the motivation I do to go to work all day, and who knows where I’d be without that motivation lol.
