When you forget you have a blog

Hello, readers! It’s been a few days…I figured it was time to give you all a break after posting five days in a row while on my vacation. I have to say, that might be my longest streak yet. I’m not sure, but either way it was really fun and I want to try to get in a groove again. Also, I wonder why I write and post more while I’m busy on vacation, rather than when I am at home doing nothing after my son goes to sleep? lol.

Anyways, something happened to me recently and I wanted to share it with you (maybe you can relate). The other day I was having a conversation with someone and they mentioned something about me that I didn’t recall mentioning to them. Does this ever happen to any of my fellow bloggers? lol. You sit there and think “where did they hear that?” or “how do they know this about me?” while you’re in the middle of a conversation. Well it happened to me, and when it clicked in my head I felt so dumb. They knew these things about me because they read my blog! How could I forget I have a blog?! lol. It made me laugh to myself when I finally realized.

In other news that’s not totally embarrassing…I finally fixed my record player! There were a couple things wrong with it: 1. the turntable was not turning. The rubber band that connects to the tool that spins the record was too loose, so I had to buy a whole new pack. Then, the needle broke – you know, the key part of the record player that makes it play…so that sucked. BUT, I just ordered a whole new pack of needles and put the new one on and it is finally working again! I’m so pumped. I was playing music all morning while feeding and playing with Baby O. We listened to some Elvis while we ate breakfast, some Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack while we played, and some Maroon 5 (Songs about Jane. One of the best albums ever) while we played some more. It was a really great time, and very helpful because we don’t want him to watch too much TV.

Lastly, and I’ve been sitting with this for a few days trying to calm down a little bit, and I wasn’t even sure if I should bring it up but it’s a huge story. I’m sure most of you saw President Trump was convicted on all 34 charges in the scam NY trial. I say “scam” because that’s honestly what it was. Go look into it for yourself, I don’t want to get too into it on here because it is upsetting and I try to keep politics off of here for the most part. Tyranny is here in America, and it’s pretty sad and frightening. If you stereotyped me based on what you know from this blog (I’m a Christian who lives in the Midwest – specifically Indiana), you can probably guess which way I lean politically, and I’m okay with my readers knowing that, and it’s okay if you disagree with me (that’s what this place is all about, right? Different opinions, different values, different views of the world. That’s what is supposed to make America so great – being able to have those differences and express them without fear of retaliation).

Imprisoning your top political opponent (who is leading in most of the polls) on BS charges is banana republic type stuff, and it has no place in our country. The conviction will (hopefully) be reversed on appeal. We will have to see, but it’s already done its damage to our country and her reputation. We’re a laughingstock, our judicial system is a complete joke – at least in New York for now. I’m not sure where we go from here as a country, but I hope things get better.

Sorry to end on such a sour note but it’s such big news I would have felt bad for leaving it out.
