Florida Trip: Day Three

Day three started a little differently than day two. I actually woke up at 7:30 and went to the gym at the hotel to work out lol.

I know, I’m surprised too. But it felt really good to get a good workout in before starting my day. Will I do it on day four? No, probably not. But that’s okay. I am so tired all I want to do on day four is just rest in the shade by the pool.

At the hotel gym I kept it simple. I walked one mile on the treadmill, worked on my chest, shoulders, and biceps, and lifted some free weights. After that I called it a day in there. You’d think the hotel gym in Florida would have better air conditioning lol or maybe I was hot because of my sunburn. Who knows.

After the gym I got breakfast at the delicious hotel restaurant. Eggs (over easy), bacon, hash-browns, wheat toast. It’s the simple things that make me happy.

Once I finished I headed toward the pool to chill for a bit, then when my cousins were ready we went down to the beach and swam in the ocean again. However, we quickly decided to walk along the beach this time, and occasionally go in and swim. It was a long walk and did not help my burns lol.

Once that was finished I went back to the hotel, sat in the shade at the hotel bar and ordered a huge grilled grouper sandwich. This thing was delicious! Besides the fish, it had avocado and bacon on it. It was so good. I might get it again today lol.

Finally, it was time to get ready for my cousins wedding. It was the whole reason I’m here after all. Went back to the room, trimmed neck beard to make it look nice, showered and put my grey suit on. It’s easy for guys to get ready when we don’t have a lot of time.

Before we knew it, it was time to call an Uber, so we met up with our driver and went to the church. The wedding was beautiful! The church was packed, which meant the reception was going to be even more crowded.

When we left the church it was time to go back to the hotel. Thankfully, the reception was at the hotel we were all staying at so it was very easy for my cousins and I to go back to our room for a few minutes and have some drinks before we went downstairs and joined everyone for cocktail hour.

The reception was also beautiful. We were seated with other cousins we hadn’t seen in a long time, and some we never had the chance to meet before. It was a really fun dinner (and night!).

There were lots of drinks, laughs and dancing last night. I’m not much of a dancer, if I’m being honest. I’ve never been outgoing when it comes to dancing, so I found other things to do (like eat, get some fresh air by the ocean, and watch the Pacers lose to the Celtics in the final minute of the game. Don’t worry, I only caught the final minute of the game lol).

Around midnight I started feeling like a dad of a one-year-old. I was exhausted. I called it a night and went to bed. It was a really fun day and a great wedding!
