What I’ve been listening to lately

Hi, it’s been a while since I shared what I’ve been listening to so I figured my readers needed (?) an update.

I’ve been listening to some new music recently, as well as some new podcasts (new to me at least) and I’ve been really enjoying them. Let’s start with music.

Well, as you know I really like Kenny Chesney. I still do but not as much as last summer lol. I guess it was a just a phase. Recently I realized I really only enjoy his summertime music about the islands and sunshine and relaxing. So, I have moved on a bit from him. The one artist I’ve been listening to non-stop lately is Zach Bryan. I don’t know why but I really like his songs. I like the way they’re written and I like the way they’re sung. There’s so much passion in his voice and the words feel so real – if that makes sense.

I’ve also been listening to some classical music playlists on Spotify. Mostly, I’ve been listening to a playlist called Gothic Classical. I don’t know why I enjoy it so much but it keeps me focused at work and it’s just beautiful music. Some of it sounds haunting, and some of it sounds like music from hundreds of years ago. Either way, it’s really enjoyable for me and I love listening to it!

And, lastly (for the music portion of this post), I’ve been listening to a playlist I created called Beach Bum. Now that it’s getting warmer out and we live by a lake, i love listening to this playlist. It’s filled with Kenny Chesney, Jimmy Buffet, Zach Brown band and a few more artists who sing about being on an island or on the ocean. It’s such relaxing and fun music and when it’s warm out, or if I have a vacation planned that I can’t stop thinking about, it’s a must – listen for me.

My podcast selection has changed quite a bit since the last time I shared what I listen to. For example, I haven’t been into the paranormal stuff for a while now. I don’t know why, but those shows don’t do it for me right now. So, I’ve been listening to more sports – related content. Specifically, I’ve been listening to a lot of Barstool Sports shows. Something about these shows is so different and special. It’s content you don’t get anywhere else, and sports talk you would never, ever here from the pricks on ESPN.

My favorite show from Barstool is Pardon My Take. Big Cat and PFT are hilarious and the rest of the crew is great too. Another one of my favorites from them is Frank the Tank. Frank the Tank, aka Frank Fleming, is one of my favorite hires Barstool has made. He’s hilarious and genuinely a nice guy from everything I’ve seen. His show is called Allow me to be Frank and it’s great. Just Frank and two of his friends/co-workers/employees chatting it up. Lastly, from Barstool Sports, is The Unnamed Show.

The Unnamed Show got it’s name because Dave Portnoy, founder and leader of Barstool Sports, cancelled Barstool Radio because the hosts chosen for the gig were terrible at their jobs. So, Dave and two others took over the show and couldn’t come up with a name. So they decided it was The Unnamed Show. They talk about the daily happenings at the company and the drama that ensues. It’s pretty entertaining and really enjoyable during a boring day of work.

So, that is what I’ve been listening to lately. If you’re interested, feel free to give any of them a try (except my beach bum playlist. I think it’s private lol). Also, if you have any recommendations let me know!
