Hello and welcome back to my DC Comics storyline series! Here you’ll find my opinions on three recent books I’ve read from DC Comics and, hopefully, some suggestions for yourself if you become interested. I love reading these comics. They are so much fun and it’s nice to let my mind wander into a different world for a little bit. Let’s get started!
Superman: Lost No. 1

The first issue I read is a new Superman comic. It came out about six months or so ago and it is finally free to read of the DC app! It’s called Superman: Lost. To start, I’ll give my opinion, then I’ll give the summary from DC.com. I thought it was just alright. It wasn’t anything special in my opinion. Obviously, I love Superman, so I will stick it out and wait for the second issue to become available lol. The story is kind of interesting, and I really enjoyed the artwork. It’s different, I’ll give it that. We will have to wait and see how number two is!
Here is the summary from DC.com: “After Superman is called away on a routine Justice League mission, Lois Lane awakens to find a complete stranger standing in her living room. The Man of Steel, home much sooner than expected, reveals he has, in fact, been lost in space for 20 years. Nothing and no one seem familiar to him anymore, and the timeless bond between them has been severed…or has it? Can love conquer all?”
Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons No. 1

This one was new to me. I’ve never read a Wonder Woman comic before, but I have to say it is pretty good! First, the art is absolutely incredible. Like, it’s distracting lol. It’s probably some of the best comic – book – art I’ve seen. It’s so colorful. It’s a great start to the three – part series. It’s a little sad, but also very cool. It’s basically showing us the creation of the Amazons.
Here is the summary from DC.com: “The wait is over, and the entire story of the Amazons can finally be told! Millennia ago, Queen Hera and the goddesses of the Olympian pantheon grew greatly dissatisfied with their male counterparts…and far from their sight, they put a plan into action. A new society was born, one never before seen on Earth, capable of wondrous and terrible things…but their existence could not stay secret for long. When a despairing woman named Hippolyta crossed the Amazons’ path, a series of events was set in motion that would lead to an outright war in heaven—and the creation of the Earth’s greatest guardian!”
Batman/Superman: Worlds Finest No. 1

This one is so awesome. I cannot believe I haven’t read this before. The art was great (it was great in all three of the stories I read this time!), the story is really, really good, and I can’t wait to read more! I love Batman and Superman working together. They even have Robin playing a part in this so far. I also loved how they brought in the Doom Patrol. They’re a strange bunch, and not really a central group in DC comics, but they’ve been getting more popular recently and I find them really enjoyable.
Here is the summary from DC.com: “The Dark Knight. The Man of Steel. They are the two finest superheroes that the world has ever known…and they’re together again in an epic new series from the legendary talents of Mark Waid and Dan Mora!
In the not-too-distant past, Superman’s powers are super-charged from a devastating chemical attack by the villain Metallo…and the only ally that the ultra-powerful Man of Tomorrow can turn to in this turbulent hour is Gotham’s own dark vengeance: the Batman. A nearly fatal burst of power drives Bruce Wayne to his own extreme measures to help his friend…enlisting none other than the Doom Patrol for aid. It’s the world’s greatest superheroes from the world’s greatest comic book talent in an epic comic book experience that kicks off the next big events in the DCU. Get ready, it’s time to soar.”
All three of these issues were so good. I can’t wait to read more! Next up in this series will be the second issue from Wonder Woman and the second issue from Batman/Superman. Unfortunately, I have to wait another month or two until Superman: Lost No. 2 is released for free. No worries, I will find another comic to read and tell you all about it!
I hope you enjoyed this edition of DC Comic Storylines! Please share and subscribe.
