Life & Current Events

Good morning, dear readers. I hope your week is going well. We’ve reached the middle of the week (finally). It seems like this week has taken forever to get through. I had Monday off due to the holiday (Juneteenth), worked from home Tuesday, and I am working late today (which means I don’t start until 11:30 AM central time, and I am also from home!) So, you all know how I happy I am that I only have to go into my office in Chicago once this week lol.

Anyways, there hasn’t been much going on in my life recently, so I wanted to talk about some big, current events that have taken place the last few days. First, let’s start with the story that gives me the most anxiety. Have you all heard about the tourist submarine that disappeared while they were exploring the Titanic wreckage? If not, you can read the details here

I saw a picture yesterday of what the inside of the sub looked like and oh my…talk about claustrophobia (and no, that does not mean you are afraid of Santa Claus. Just a little joke for my readers who also grew up on Spongebob lol). Jokes aside, I really hope these people are found before it’s too late. Yesterday I think I read they only had about forty hours of oxygen left. That is so scary. Again, you can read about the details here.

In other news, President Biden’s son, Hunter, apparently reached a plea deal on gun and tax charges yesterday, and avoided prison time by pleading guilty. You can read about this here. I’m not going to go into it, but it’s funny to me how the President’s son gets off with no prison time, but anyone else who would have had these charges thrown at them would be in prison. The justice system in this country is so two – tiered. Look, for transparency, I’m not the President’s biggest fan, but I don’t think that should matter in regards to this story. If this was anyone else’s kid they would be in jail right now.

I also don’t bring race into anything, however, here is an obvious example of “supremacy”. You have a rich white guy avoiding prison time with a sweetheart deal, while minorities, when charged with the same exact thing, usually end up in prison for the full sentence. How is that right? This country is so messed up, and our justice system appears to be corrupted at the moment. I can go on and on about how wrong this is, but I won’t. Again, you can read about it here

I hope you’re having a good week and I hope to write to you all again soon!

  1. Interesting blog post Peter sir. Great to see a Blogger writing a variety of miscellaneous topics from politics, current events in your personal life, photography, movie reviews and so on💯

Also, I can tell by the way you are describing political events that you are an American. I am not actually, I am an African from Eswatini/Swaziland and I too hear and see the news on TV about USA’s justice system and though I don’t follow it to the tee, I agree that a lot of messed up things happen over there✔
