Yesterday was my first father’s day and it was great!
Yesterday we started our day by waking up at five in the morning to feed Mr. Oliver. Well, Lea woke up and let me sleep in a little bit. But when I woke up, we all got ready for church. We haven’t been in a while, and it was really nice to go back and to take Oliver with us (even though he woke up in the middle of the service and freaked out because he didn’t know where he was lol).
After church we went to brunch. We went to the same place we had his baby shower: Toast & Jam. It was fun. It was me, Lea, Oliver, my mom, aunts and cousin. As always, it was delicious.
Finally, we came home. I took some time to cut the grass and to fix our trimmer. I’m really proud of myself for actually figuring it out! Lol. The edges were getting really long since the last time I trimmed them and it was bugging me so much.
Of course, Father’s Day doesn’t go by without me thinking of my dad. I miss him a lot but I know he’s in a better place. Instead of writing something new, I wanted to just paste what I wrote on Facebook and Instagram yesterday for my dad, father – in – law, brother – in – law, and grandfathers.
A little translation before you read…Yiorgo is my younger brother. His name means George in English. “Pappou” means grandfather.
Happy Fathers Day to so many great men in my life!
Happy Father’s Day to my dad. You were the best dad and were always a great role model for Yiorgo and I to look up to. You were the “cool” and “funny” dad (even if I didn’t think so at the time 😂 But now I know where I get it from, right?) thank you for everything. I miss you so much and hope you are proud of me.
Happy Father’s Day to my Father-in-law! Thank you for treating me as your own since Lea and I started dating and for always showing me how to be generous and take care of your family. I couldn’t ask for a better father-in-law!
Happy Fathers Day to my Brother-in-love Ian! Thanks for always being a good friend and brother, and for not being the stereotypical “older brother” when Lea and I started dating. You’ve always been so nice and supportive of us!
And finally, Happy Fathers Day to my Pappou George and Pappou Peter. Without them taking a chance and coming to America, I wouldn’t be here right now, and Lea wouldn’t have the funniest, coolest, and most handsome guy as a husband.
In all seriousness, thank you two for being the best Pappou’s in the world. Along with my dad, you showed me what it means to be a man, how to treat people, and how to raise a family. You showed me how to be proud of being Greek, but also how to be proud of being an American. Thank you for all the love and support you’ve given me throughout my life! I hope I’ve been making you guys proud.
I love you all. Thank you for everything!!!
I have many great men in my life who have all helped shape who I am, and I couldn’t let the day go by without letting them know how much I appreciate them.
I hope all my followers who are father’s had a great Father’s Day! And to all those who are not father’s, I hope you had a great weekend!
Peter
