First day back in the office

Hi! I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start. Mine started poorly but ended being really good! I’ll tell you why below.

Today was my first day back at work in my office in Chicago. The one thing I’ve been dreading the last couple months was the commute and, honestly, that wasn’t even the worst part. It was actually a really nice part!

The worst part was the app I use to buy my train tickets wasn’t working! Which is really frustrating because it’s so easy and convenient lol. As I write this I realize I should be happy that’s the only issue I have in my life right now. Anyway, it was annoying!

The drive was so pretty this morning. The sun was rising, the sky was blue, and there were a few clouds in the sky. Not to mention it was warm. It made the whole commute more enjoyable.

Walking to my office building was nice too. Chicago is so pretty in the spring and summer time. When I finally arrived at my desk, I had a really nice surprise! As my readers know I just had my 29th birthday in April. Well, since I was on leave I didn’t get the normal birthday celebration in the office. However, my boss was kind enough to come in, decorate my desk and bring donuts!

I feel horrible for eating two though. Although they were delicious lol! Work was good. I can’t really talk much about it on here, but I’m easing back into it. I hit my production goal today which felt really nice. When I had my first day back on Friday, there wasn’t much work to do so it felt weird. I don’t like just sitting there not doing anything. So the fact that I had work to do and reached my production goal felt really good!

Now I’m on the train patiently waiting to get home to see my boy. Oh, and Lea I guess. But mostly baby boy! I hope you all had a great start to your week.
