The Chicago Bulls & their secret extensions

Good morning! I hope your week is going well so far. Almost to the weekend! I go back to work on Friday and I’m not sure how to feel about it. These last two months went by so fast and I enjoyed every minute of it (even if some minutes were filled with frustration lol). I don’t want to go back. I just want to hang out with my baby all day every day. Unfortunately, that’s not how things work lol. Anyways, today I’m going to rant about something I haven’t written about in a long time: the Chicago Bulls.

Buckle up, because this fan is fed up! I’m just kidding, I promise I won’t be all moody on here today, but I am frustrated with this team – mainly the organization itself. Usually, I talk about the players and what they can do better, how they’re doing, or if I think they should be traded lol. However, today will be strictly about the leaders of the organization; the general managers and the owner. 

First, I want to congratulate Bulls guard Alex Caruso. He was voted to the NBA’s All – Defense team for the first time! So, congrats to him because that is awesome and totally deserved. He is probably the Bulls best defender. He makes a difference on any team he is on. Again, congratulations!

Now, let’s get to the part of this post that irritates me the most. Why is the Bulls organization so secretive? I believe it’s because they know the fans don’t agree, and they just don’t care about us. They should, we make them rich, but they don’t. Here’s my first example: Bulls’ Donovan signed extension before start of season. The head coach was extended before the last season, yet we didn’t find out for months afterwards. Why would they extend Billy two years before his contract is up? The fans don’t appreciate it. Not that we don’t like him, but he hasn’t proven anything. The team has gone nowhere. So why extend his contract secretively before the season even starts?

Next, there is this: Bulls Rumors: Arturas Karnisovas ‘Quietly’ Received Contract Extension. He is one of the General Managers for the Bulls. Again, why “quietly”? Why so secretive? Is it because he came in and made a complete mess of things, while constantly saying that his vision will work out? Karnisovas career with the Bulls started out great. The team was first place in the East. One player gets hurt and it all goes in the trash. That is how weak the roster has been. One player makes all the difference. Now, I believe the players we have are good and they can be a good team, so it all comes down to coaching in my opinion. Which takes me back to my first example – why would they extend the coach before the season starts and he has two years left on his contract? It makes no sense!

The Bulls owner, Jerry Reinsdorf, only cares about money. He doesn’t care if the team wins and fans are happy. He’s still riding the Michael Jordan/90’s Bulls wave and raking in profits from jersey sales and organization popularity world – wide.

To say Bulls fans are displeased is an understatement. I know it’s impossible, but if we somehow are able to boycott games and have the owners income drop, that would make him either A) sell the team or B) get his s%&* together. Both are great options!
