Hello and welcome back to Exploring the Region – where I share with you the cool places I’ve been to around Northwest Indiana. If you’re ever in the area, be sure to check these places out!
A couple days ago was my wife’s birthday and, of course, I wanted to take her some place beautiful for dinner. Around here, there’s no place better than the Lighthouse Restaurant in Cedar Lake, Indiana.
Beautifully built on the shore of Cedar Lake, the Lighthouse gives its customers a great view of the lake, good food, and also offers outside dining in the warmer months. Often times, the restaurant has live music as well. Whether it’s one person or three, there is usually someone playing the guitar and singing, which makes for a fun atmosphere.
Also outside, you can come and enjoy the water and sunshine without having to dine (or while waiting for your table). They have outdoor seating where you can sit, relax, order drinks and listen to music. It’s really great!
Last night Lea and I were seated perfectly. Our table was right by a window that faced the lake. It was beautiful!
We both ordered steak. Lea ordered the sirloin and I got a fourteen – ounce New York Strip lol
The food was, as always, delicious. However, I don’t think I will be eating fourteen ounces again lol! We enjoyed some wine as well with our meals. After we ate, the restaurant was kind enough to bring lea a little complimentary birthday cake. Keep in mind it was not a full – sized cake lol! I wouldn’t expect it to be either. It was a kind gesture!
