Baby O’s Baby Shower

Hello everyone! The last few days have pretty busy and fun, so I wanted to share what’s been going on with all of you.

On Friday a friend of mine was in town that I haven’t seen in forever. He’s been one of my best friends since we were kids so of course we had to get a few of us together to go out to eat and have a few drinks!

We ended up at this bar and grill in Cedar Lake called Bugaboos. It’s one of my favorite places to take people who come to visit because it’s right on the lake and has a beautiful view of the water. Here is a pick I took before my friends joined me!

Don’t let the picture fool you though…It was not as warm as it seemed lol. We still sat outside and ate our dinner until the sun went down. After that we moved inside because, well, we were cold.

Once inside we continued great conversations and caught up a bit. It was really nice to see my close friends again. It’s been too long. It sucks that people grow up and grow apart. Each of us moving around the state and/or country and having our own full lives. But that’s life, and we just have to deal with it and make time to see the one’s we enjoy and love!

On Saturday we had a small baby shower for Oliver. It was beautifully decorated and so much fun. We had family and friends join us to celebrate Oliver and everyone welcomed him to the family. He received many gifts which consisted of diapers and books mostly lol We appreciate them all! We even received generous gifts from people who weren’t invited to the shower (sorry, but like I said, it was a smaller event!). We are so thankful for everyone who has reached out, supported us, loved Oliver, and sent gifts for him. Our little family is so blessed to have all of you in our lives.

We had his shower at a great restaurant called Toast & Jam, which is in Schererville, Indiana. They have great breakfast food, and the lunch they served at the shower was great as well! Everyone there was so easy to work with and kind. We appreciate and recommend checking it out if you’re ever in the region (northwest Indiana)!

After the shower a few of our friends from college came over and hung out with us and our family. Yesterday was an all – around great day, and it was so nice to see everyone again and hear about what’s going on in their lives.

As for today, we are just going to relax around the house. Currently, Lea and Oliver are both napping lol and I am watching Game of Thrones for the first time (no spoilers please!). It’s a pretty good show. I’m on season 3 already lol.

Well, I should get going. I need to edit my next Get to Know post and finish this episode before I start doing things around the house. Have a great day!
