Saturday – Food, Cats, & a Birthday Party

Hi, happy Saturday! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! It’s only 1:15 in the afternoon here in the region as I type this, but we’ve already done so much today! It’s been an eventful day that is leading to a more eventful night (for me at least).

We started the day by meeting my aunt for breakfast at 8:30. We went to this nice restaurant called Toast & Jam. If you’re ever in Northwest Indiana you can find it in Schererville! The food is really good and it’s a cool place to be. So we went there to eat and to scope the place out as a potential baby shower location for whenever our little man is here. He should be here soon – two weeks or less I think! Anyways, it’s a nice place, it has great food, and I always enjoy it. So give it a try if you’re ever in the area!

Next, Lea and I went to Petco in Highland. The cats needed a new perch and we found them the perfect one. The love it!

This thing is massive in our bedroom. It’s six feet tall lol!

Down the street there was a Target so we had to stop there of course. Lea wasn’t going to let us just pass it by. After that we went to Albert’s Diamond Jewelers because I needed to get three of my watches fixed! (and Lea wanted to get another ring. I have to learn to stop taking her with me when I go there!)

Here are a few of my watches! My one with the blue face on the left is my everyday watch. I love it. The colors and the way it fits my wrist are just perfect. The metal part of the band had broken off earlier this week. Thankfully they were able to fix it quickly! The gold one in the middle was my dads. My mom recently went and got the battery fixed, so today all I had to do was get a link taken out so it could fit my wrist. This one will just be for special occasions so I can feel like he’s there with me (wherever I am). And, finally, the black one on the right. This is one I bought for myself when I first started working back in 2017. It’s special to me because it was the first one I had ever bought for myself. I picked it out, I liked how it looks (still do), and I paid for it. The battery died years ago and today I was finally able to get it fixed! So I’m happy I can start wearing it again.

Currently, I am just resting. I have a long night ahead of me. An old friend from high school is having a birthday party in Chicago and she invited me and some of our other friends to go and visit and join the party. It’s so nice of her to invite me. We haven’t spoken in a while. You know how life is. You grow up, grow apart and lose touch with people. So it’ll be fun to see some old faces tonight!
