Hello readers! I’ve been thinking about a nickname to call all of you, and I think I finally figured it out. Since you all read my posts, and since this is The Region Life, I have decided to make all of you honorary residents of Northwest Indiana (aka “the region”). And since you are now an honorary member, you have earned the title of Region Rat. That’s right. My readers will henceforth be known as “region rats”. Congratulations!
My readers who reside in the region, or grew up here, know that the correct term for someone who is from northwest Indiana is “region rat”. So it is only fair that my readers be called this too, since you follow along and read about this little corner in Indiana. Again, congratulations my fellow rats.
Today was pretty good. I had to commute to Chicago again and I noticed I wasn’t as tired as I usually was. Maybe my body is finally adjusting to this hybrid schedule? Gosh I hope so. Work was a little crazy today. I’m not sure if I told you guys what I do yet, and I’m not sure if I can so I will just say this. I work for a bank and I am in financial crimes. That’s all you’re getting out of me! As I was saying, work was crazy today. There was an update to one of our processes so we had a ton of extra work to do that had to be done by end-of-day. Needless to say, I am pooped.
These days of commuting kind of blur together now. It’s so strange. I’ll wake up and next thing I know I am in Chicago. Then I’ll work for a little, eat, and then just like that I am back home. Does anyone else have days like that? Where you feel like you missed a bunch of time? It’s such a strange feeling! No, I don’t think it was a time slip (we can discuss those in another post because they fascinate me), but I do think we get so used to our day-to-day routines that we let them fly by without really paying attention. It’s odd, but I think we all do it.
Well, I should get going. I had a few things I wanted to get done before going to bed tonight. Congratulations again, my fellow region rats. I will talk to you all again soon!
Have a great night!
Peter
