Winter Storm Over The Midwest & Christmas Plans

Well, if you haven’t heard there’s a huge blizzard/snow storm (whatever you want to call it) terrorizing a majority of the country right now – especially over the midwest and the Great Lakes. It just started snowing here in the region earlier today. So far it hasn’t been too bad, but I’m not getting my hopes up that the weather people are wrong.

My fingers are still a little numb though. I just finished shoveling our driveway! It’s currently 8 degrees outside with some snow on the ground. I figured I’d get ahead of the snow piling up this weekend and try to get most of it off of our driveway tonight. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens over the weekend. Hopefully we will be able to get together with our family for Christmas!

Tomorrow (Friday) night, Lea and I are supposed to have a sleepover at my moms with all my cousins. My mom’s calling it “fleece navidad sleep over” lol. It should be a good time. I’ll finally have a chance to catch up with my younger cousins since they’ve been so busy with school and friends and all of that. And we will probably order food and watch movies, so that will be nice. But! only if the weather lets us.

Then Saturday night my aunt is having her annual Christmas Eve party. All of our extended family is also invited and it’s always a good time to hang out with my cousins. In recent years, we’ve started playing Cards Against Humanity in the basement, as well as setting up a few tables to play beer pong on. It’s always a good time!

On Sunday my mom is hosting Christmas dinner. That’s just for us and her sisters and their families. That will be fun too! Lots of good food to be eaten (mostly by me).

I have a fun weekend coming up (hopefully) and I’m looking forward to it. Besides that, this week has been fun too. My cousin is here for the holidays from London and she slept over earlier this week. On Monday night she came over and we ordered food from this restaurant in Crown Point, IN. It’s called Station 21 and for having it delivered it was really, REALLY good food. We watched a marvel movie, since she hasn’t seen many of them, and then went to bed because we were all so full. Then on Tuesday I had the day off, and she worked from our couch and we binged a ton of Marvel movies (in timeline order of course) and spent hours being couch potatoes – but it was fun! It’s always fun and exciting to watch those movies with someone who hasn’t seen many of them.

Today Lea and I had the opportunity to go to a doctor appointment for the adoption. We got to hear the baby’s heart beat. It was so incredible, I don’t really know how else to describe it! And tonight, besides shoveling, we are making dinner and watching the last Harry Potter movie. Every couple years we binge the whole series, Lea loves it. I don’t mind it. I enjoy the movies and story, but she is obsessed!

Well, dinner is almost done so I should go. Have a great night, and a safe and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Peter
